I have quite a few subscribed calendars that I'm trying to unsubscribe but am unable to do so. When I click on unsubscribe, the confirmation window comes up and it SEEMS like the calendar has been unsubscribed. However, when I open another window of google calendar, the calendar still comes up as subscribed.

I've unsuccessfully tried to unsubscribe and then clear cache/cookies, unsubscribe all calendars and various other combinations but the subscribed calendars seem to "stick" to my account. Here are the ID's to the public calendars that are sticky:

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 5/30/12 3:11 AM
We made some additional changes recently that should allow previously un-unsubscribable holiday calendars to be unsubscribale now. Could folks still experiencing this problem please try again? And please  let me know if you are still having the problem with other calendars.

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars dave3668 8/1/12 8:39 AM
Hi Grace

I'm still having the problem with trying to unsubscribe from Canadian holidays. When I unsubscribe in chrome it says it has done it but next time in to calendar it asks if I want to add the calendar, its really frustrating. especially as the calendar has the wrong holidays on it!!

Not sure if this is relevant but but I am using chrome sync functionality...

It would be great if you could get the issue fixed please.

Thanks
Dave

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 8/2/12 5:24 AM
Hi Dave,

Your problem sounds like something different from what the other users were experiencing in the bug we recently fixed. (For them, they weren't asked to add the holidays back, it just kept reappearing on its own.) Can you explain what you mean exactly by "next time in to calendar it asks if I want to add the calendar"? Is that on the web, on a mobile device, or something else? What is the exact message being given and the options?

Thanks!
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars dave3668 10/28/12 1:28 PM
Hi Grace

Sorry for delay in replying - didn't see you had responded.

What happens for me is if I go into google calendar settings and unsubscribe from Canadian holidays it disappears from the calendar OK. Then next time I go into calendar a  white dialog about 3 inches by 1.5 inches big appears with black writing  asking Do you want to add this calendar: Canadian holidays. It has 2 buttons yes, add this calendar and no, do not add this calendar. If I press do not add then next time I go into calendar it asks the same question. Only way to stop it hassling me is to add the calendar. But thats not really what I want as I want to get rid of the calendar.

I am on google apps if that makes any difference...

If you need more info feel free to email me
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 10/29/12 7:50 AM
Hi Dave,

Very interesting. I only have one hypothesis so far, which is that the link you're using to access Calendar is a bookmarked link that includes a reference to the Canadian holidays calendar. Does this also happen if you open calendar by typing "calendar.google.com" into the url bar?

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars dave3668 10/29/12 8:00 AM
Hi Grace

Thanks for the reply.

Excellent hypothesis - if I don't use the bookmarked link everything works, I investigated my bookmark and it had the calendar name built into it.

Thanks very much for resolving the issue

Dave
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 10/29/12 8:36 AM
Yay!!! Glad we could figure that out!
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Dwana Willis 11/2/12 9:55 AM
I imported outlook to google calendar from the calendar page.  I want to reverse the process I don't like the two combined bc I can't see the calendars sep. in google calendar.

Any suggestions?

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 11/6/12 2:46 AM
Dwana, your problem is not related to the problem being discussed in this thread, which has to do with the built-in extra calendars provided by Google Calendar.

Could you please start a new thread and be more specific about how you imported Outlook to Google Calendar initially?
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars dozerdude 11/19/12 2:52 PM
Hi Grace. I have 15 days of weather that I can't get rid of in my default calendar.
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 11/20/12 3:25 AM
dozerdude, are you talking about the little weather icons that appear on today and the following 3 days? That weather calendar is described here and can be turned off in Settings: http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=48494

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Matthew Slater 1/14/13 3:41 PM
I'm having the same issue. It's not the icons. Those are off (I can turn them off and on). It's set up as an all-day event (e.g., 48°/24°) in my default calendar. I don't know where it's coming from. I don't seem to be subscribed to any other weather calendars.

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 1/15/13 3:08 AM
Hi Matthew,

Hmm, I'm not sure where those events would be coming from if they're showing up in your default calendar. Could it be that you've set up a service/app like that on a device that syncs with your calendar, like your mobile phone?
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Matthew Slater 1/15/13 6:08 AM
Possibly. But hell if I can find it! I'm thinking that the best solution is going to be to create a new calendar, move all of my events to it, and delete the original. Hopefully that'll do it.
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Matthew Slater 1/15/13 2:03 PM
Oh, looks like it's not possible to delete my primary calendar. D'oh.
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars ellegitimate 3/1/13 5:42 PM
I'm having this same problem. Please help.
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 3/4/13 8:16 AM
ellegitimate: there are a few different issues in this long thread. Which problem are you running into exactly?
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Monica Hurley 3/26/13 5:32 PM
I am unable to unsubscribe from a weather calendar. It was inadvertently added to my calendar two weeks ago. Every time I go into the settings it comes to the introductory pop windows. Please help me to unsubscribe. Thank you very much
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 4/2/13 7:38 AM
Hi Monica, I don't understand what you mean by saying you go to settings and you get the introductory pop-up windows. Could you explain? Settings would be the right place to go to turn off the Weather calendar.

Also, can you double check that you're getting to Calendar using the url "google.com/calendar"? (instead of e.g. a longer bookmarked url)
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Matthew Slater 4/2/13 7:46 AM
Hi all, I finally figured out my problem (I think). it was an iPad app that was sending the weather to my main calendar: AccuWeather. The setting was hidden, but it was there. Hope that helps someone here.
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Grace D 4/2/13 7:54 AM
Cool, Matthew, I'm glad you finally found the source of the mystery weather info appearing in your calendar! And I definitely hope this helps others out there. Thanks!
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars andyshaw56 4/16/13 11:12 AM
The AccuWeather finding was a godsend. Un-selecting its calendar setting solved my problem too. Much thanks.

Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Cyrusnc 4/26/13 8:55 AM
Aha, thank you. I had the same problem and you have solved it.  Accuweather from my iPad - under settings, I had turned on "calendar" without realizing this would upload it everywhere.  Many thanks again.
Re: Unable to unsubscribe from calendars Linda Alsman 4/26/13 4:00 PM
I have been trying to remove this for months. Thanks for the AccuWeather tip it is finally gone!!
