Why no tribute to 9/11 on Patriot Day? You had a goofy tribute with Obama for the MLK anniversary but no 9/11 tribute? I am seriously getting sick of Google's crap! Searching my emails, tracking my searches, and the best you can do for 9/11 is a black ribbon but MLK and Obama get cool artwork? YOU SUCK!
|Re: Weak basically no tribute to 9/11 for 2013????||Scott Rankin||9/11/13 4:16 AM|
Its pretty par for the coarse for these chickenshit bastards, you know who they are in bed with, Shame on you Google

"You had a goofy tribute with Obama for the MLK anniversary but no 9/11 tribute?"The MLK doodle didn't include Obama, your conspiracy fueled mind provided that extra tidbit by seeing the back of a black mans head. Not everything is a conspiracy against you and the nation. You aren't fighting politicians/Doodle artists(really?) who are bent on the destruction of America, even if that is what you are told in the echo chamber. You are having an intellectual disagreement with people who hold a different set of opinions and life experiences who love their country just as much as you do.
Google has done something solemn and appropriate for this day for years now; a simple black ribbon. Maybe you need to ask yourselves why you need something more than that? The Doodles are generally celebrations of human achievement and holidays; the ribbon is a way of marking the occasion, but not associating it with doodles, a medium which is historically (well, for a decade or so) light hearted and fun. There is nothing light hearted or fun about 9/11.
No Scott Rankin, shame on you for assuming that everyone chooses to remember tragedy the way you wish to remember it. Shame on you for assuming that they are 'in bed with' someone...and who would it be that they are in bed with? Are you trying to equate your right wing echo chamber induced non-thinking about those who hold differing political ideas with the people who decide how and when to put up a remembrance on a website? Have you asked yourself why you see divergent viewpoints as indicators of some unknown-but-apparent malice?
I jumped into the Doodle section expecting the worst, and you guys were sure to deliver. I expect there to be a flood of similar comments from reactionaries who feel that America isn't loved hard enough and who make the same 'how dare you!?' proclamations. Your ignorance seems to have piggy-backed on your sense of self-righteousness and it is starting to make you look like an ass.

You are way off base.
Google used a black ribbon to remember the day.
It was very appropriate.
You wanted to see "cool artwork"????
You are warped.
If you want to know more about 9/11 you are welcome to search it on google.
Google I thank you for being apppropriate.

They must not have realized that commemorating 9/11 is primarily about pleasing you with shiny decorations. Now that you've brought this to their attention, I'm sure they'll rectify it at once.

This has nothing to do with appropriate or solemn acknowledgment of a tragic day in history. The ribbon isn't even clickable. EVERY American holiday gets the shaft by Google. Google's priorities and ideologies are suspect imo.

"Google's priorities and ideologies are suspect imo."Based solely on this one comment...Tim92024's mental capacity is suspect.
Really? If it had been clickable it would have been just a tiny bit better?
Oh look, it's that 'ignorance' thing again.
Thanksgiving gets a doodle.
Halloween gets a doodle.
The holidays around the end of December get a doodle (don't even start with 'BUT THEY DIDN"T SAY CHRISTMAS!!!1' crap).
New Years Eve/Day get a doodle.
Valentines Day gets a doodle.
Easter has had a doodle.
Memorial day gets an American flag ribbon.
Fourth of July gets a doodle.
Labor day gets a doodle.
Even Groundhogs Day has gotten a doodle.
So...tell me again about how Google never honors ANY American holiday.
So tired of the loud, mouth-breathers who come around to yell and scream about things they don't even attempt to understand or clarify. Go away, you are fired from the internet.

I think a the ribbon was a fitting tribute. There is nothing more that needs to be said about the event. It is a tragedy that we've been reopening for too long. This is not a time for cool clickable animations. It is a somber moment, and Google's choice of remembering it is fitting.

@Gators - I’m with you on this - everyone who doesn’t agree CLEARLY works at Google… so don't listen to them. They can’t put a flag up? or maybe a photo of the 9/11 monument?... - or maybe a photo of the planes crashing into the buildings?... or how about photos of the people who had family members in the buildings or on the planes that were killed that day?... nope.....

For twelve years we have celebrated "National tower fall down day". Is this going to be some sort of national holiday now? Where we will remember the day alot of people died, some planes crashed, and buildings collapsed, because I surely would be disappointed if it was.
People die every single day, thousands of them in fact, buildings are destroyed every day, and people suffer from terrorism every single day, it's only in first world countries when it is remembered.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. As September 11 is a somber and serious day, we've chosen the black ribbon as a more subtle and subdued graphic to show our quiet support and memory of the day. We're listening, so please keep sharing your thoughts.

@ Colin Moriarity
While the first sentence would be okay if it were sarcastic, based on the second line it is not. I feel you have a great point but you portrayed it very poorly. Instead of saying we should commemorate other countries that have had terrorist attacks in the past, we should just forget this one? That would be very awful. Nine Eleven should never be, I suppose, celebrated, but should be in our minds on September eleventh. Though people die every day, generally, 3,000 plus people do not die in this manner. I see your point, but try to portray it less offensively to the families that have directly suffered for this event.

Some of you people are so ignorant. In all sad events, Google does something small. Some people are sensitive and would complain if they can see something big that will remind them immediately of the tragic and horrific events of the past. In the case of something small, well people won't notice right away unless they wonder "hmm what's this black ribbon" and find out that way. So its sort of as a 50/50. Dont know if this is the way Google percieves it but those who think outside the box will understand it that way, as I did when I first read on the websites about peoples complaints. Here's my thought: don't like it? Use Bing, Ask or DuckDuckGo. Don't want to be tracked? Use DuckDuckGo. Don't like Google? Get an iPhone or Windows phone. I'm not defending Google, as I'm neutral to what company is the best, but some of you are just being ridiculous. Matter of fact I bet most that are complaining didn't even have any relations or relatives involved in the tragedy. And to those who did my condolences to you. If you'd like to read on you guy's complaints, visit the following website. http://www.seroundtable.com/9-11-google-ribbon-search-17347.html

I'm not complaining about the ribbon, I'm complaining about the idiots complaining about the ribbon. Obviously your not one of them, but obviously your illiterate as well. Judging on the words "piss off' you used, you must not even be from this country, so do me a favor, tell your mother to give birth to you in the States next time, and while your illiterate intelligence tries figuring that one out, learn the proper american term, its FUCK OFF buddy.
|Re: Weak basically no tribute to 9/11 for 2013????||ArsenioGut||9/12/13 5:28 AM|
You fucking ignoramus, I'm about as American as you are. Self-righteous patriot. "Illiterate intelligence", you sound like the immigrant here. Piss the fuck off <3

Also, I wasn't replying to you.

A little oversensitive, wouldn't you say? I'm content with Google's little tribute for today. It's not completely elusive. You can't not acknowledge that its directly under the search bar. Why, honey, would you like two flaming buildings towering over the double "oo's"? Are you complaining about a fucking ribbon? Piss off.

i sound like an immigrant? Hah! Dont make me laugh. I for one know the proper way to say "fuck off" unlike you who is still repeating the term "piss off." You sound so stupid saying "I'm about as American as you are" which means you acknowledge that I am, then you call me an immigrant! I told you you are illiterate! Look at you you sound like a dick "ignoramus" hahaha! Did you have to google a word to say or no no no wait, your probably usning Google Translate! Hahaha what a prick! And you seem like a homo sending hearts to a man like me. Keep hiding behind your computer, or bootlegged iPhone, or whatever immigrant country 3rd party phone your using brother I bet in person your a coward.

I'm fully convinced that you're fucking with me at this point. You have such a self-righteous demeanor, you know that? Either you go around spraying bullshit from your ass for kicks or legitimately go about your day being such a pompous tool.
Obviously we have differing senses of humor. xoxo <333
