|Back button to search results no longer works in IE 10 on Surface RT||fgrantwhittle||8/27/13 1:07 PM|
I use IE 10 on my Surface RT to search Google. When I do so, and I click on a result, if I want to return to the search results by clicking the back button (or swiping right), the page I was just on reloads instead. If I really quickly hit back twice, it sometimes allows me to get back to the search results.
This had happened before, and I had solved the problem because I discovered I was logged into Google and that was causing all my searches to be secure, and apparently IE 10 has a problem with secure searches and the back button because when I signed out and made sure I was using a nonsecure Google search, the back button worked fine again.
So lately, Google has been forcing me to use a secure search even if I am not logged in. If I purposely type http://www.google.com, it redirects me to https://www.google.com. Even if I go to http://nosslsearch.google.com, it redirects me to https://www.google.com. So again, my back button is no longer working.

Back button to search results hasn't worked in a long time on any browser for me.
I've attached a video that shows this in action.

The video is an mp4 not an mpeg. If you download it change the file name to .mp4 and you can view the video.
