|Reconsideration Request citing examples of websites which are already in disavow file||Tariqa89||11/1/13 3:30 AM|
Just looking for a little bit of clarification more then anything else to be honest?
I have been cleaning through a website and removing links in order to remove a manual penalty placed currently. I have seen rankings and traffic pick up as I have done this process as after reading through the Google Webmaster Guidelines, I now understand the fundamental difference between an earned link and an manipulation link made to benefit search rankings. My issue is that i have failed my fourth Google reconsideration request. I provided clear and concise information of attempts to link remove as cited by many different sources on the internet so i don't think my reconsideration request evidence is whats failing me.
I looked at the links which were given as sample URL's from Google on the latest rejection and it is in my disavow file which was uploaded a week prior to my reconsideration request. Is this an error from Google as I am assuming that Google will be bombarded by these and some errors might come through the net, if so should i just reconsider straight away saying, the links you have given I dispute as they are already disavowed and I don't understand what else I need to do? Or is this an issue with the disavow formatting? Should it Domain:url or domain:url - does this make a difference?
Any help would be great on this matter! We have currently removed/disavowed around 85% of all links pointing to my site and I am starting to feel like my attempts are hitting a brick wall (also is starting to tempt me to hit my own head against the aforementioned brick wall!)

Could you post the sample links?

Your first priority should be to actually get as many as possible of the unnatural backlinks removed, not just disavowed. You only should disavow what you cannot remove (with documentation showing failed attempts at removal).
For a disavow file, its processing will take long. A week is not enough.

Thanks for taking the time out to message me on this.
This is the sample link given - http://www.coraclecentre.co.uk - I am completely aware that this is a manipulating link and therefore I have included this domain in my disavow. This is the thing I am trying to understand? Google has said a reason for Google not removing the penalty on my website is that links like this are pointing to the website. I have been removing and disavowing links over the past few months and I always make sure that after another attempt of trying to remove links by contacting websites (which all get put into Google doc's and then shared in the reconsideration request) i still then upload a disavow a week prior to submitting a reconsideration request. I just don't know what my next step is now that links which i have tried to address and specifically used the disavow tool to mark as i don't want this link pointing to my site are now being cited as examples on why my website is suffering from a penalty?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Are you submitting a complete disavow file each time, not just "new additions"? Each upload replaces the previous one.
Have you been thorough in trying to get them removed? Your sample link is on a site belonging to http://www.linkedin.com/company/iq-channels who have numerous contact methods around the web.
The point of the sample links is to show what to look for, not precisely what needs removing, so in your case you should use Google to find similar splog postings.

Yes i have submitted complete disavow lists and I have contacted the website in order to get link removed but with no avail.
I am really interested in the final sentence because that was exactly my thinking when compiling the list of links which needed to be removed from my website. I used data sets from Google Webmaster Tools and every other tool available to compile a comprehensive list to find the spam blogs/directories/etc which were then contacted to be removed and if not replied I added to the disavow file.
So maybe i need to analyse in more depth these kind of websites. Have any of you people ever seen a site you have in your disavow list been shown as an example though? That has really thrown me and I am still struggling to move past that.
Thanks for your help

It's happened at least 3 times that I've seen on these forums, not including you. There was one yesterday.
