Dear mobile mappers,

We've launched Google Camera, a new app for your Android phone or tablet that makes it easy to take quick photos and videos, as well as photo spheres!

On Nexus devices, this new app will replace your current camera app (likely sometime today).  On non-Nexus Android devices, the Google Camera app will be an optional and additional camera app.

Of particular interest to Google Maps fans is the new, improved Photo Sphere. Immersive 360 degree photo spheres let you look up, down and all around...now at up to 50 megapixels! For the first time available on non-Nexus devices.

Did you know you can share your photo spheres on Google Maps?  Learn more about sharing to the map here, and also discuss and share with other photo sphere fans on the official G+ community.

Learn about additional Google Camera features here.

Google Camera is available on the Play store, and works on phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat. We’re just getting started, and in the months ahead we'll make Google Camera available to more devices, helping make photography easier, faster and more fun.

Have a question?  Let us know by posting here in the community!

Thanks, and happy photographing!
