Reviews suddenly disappear from my listing GinaLogan 7/19/12 3:11 AM
Clients are posting great reviews on my Google+ business place page. They show up for a day or two & then disappear completely. I have read the guidelines on reviews to confirm they are not spammy or inappropriate & I do not have duplicate business listings. They also are NOT from a third party. Therefore, there is no reason or explanation why they are disappearing.
I noticed this issue with reviews only after Google Places merged with Google+. Often times, clients can see the review once logged into their profile but it no longer appears on the public Google+ Place page. I also verified that the cilents chose to make the review public & share within their circles so this is not the issue either.

As a small business owner, I rely greatly on these positive client reviews & spend a great deal of time trying to get clients to leave these for my business. It is extremely frustrating for both the clients & myself to see these disappear with no explanation at all from Google. I have read several forums with issues on reviews & none offer any solution or assistance with getting these reviews back. Can anyone provide some assistance or information on getting reviews back that disappeared on my Google+ Place page?

Google has upped the ante in their spam abatement and on occasion loses reviews. Its hard to tell in your situation but mostly it is the former not the later. Oft times their spam filter catches legit reviews because of a pattern that they have identified as similar to one that spammers use.

Could you let me know if:
The reviews were done on a workstation in your store?
did you provide help getting the accounts set up?
Do any of the reviews have links in them?
Have the reviews been posted more than once?

Can you provide your business name, link to your Google+ local page and the content of one or more of the reviews missing?

I just searched for my business using the Google+ search bar & found two of the reviews from clients that disappeared which are still are not showing up on the main Google+/Place page but one is posted here twice. It is probably listed twice because the client tried posting it several times after me letting them know if was not showing up.

To answer your questions above:

The reviews were done on a workstation in your store? No they were not
did you provide help getting the accounts set up?  No
Do any of the reviews have links in them? No
Have the reviews been posted more than once? Yes - The one posted by Stephanie Deese has been posted several times as it kept showing up on her Google+ personal page but never was show as public after posting & sharing with circles.

Can you provide your business name, link to your Google+ local page and the content of one or more of the reviews missing?

I have been going to Bangz for years to see their esthetician Rhonda Nelson who is amazing. She has been shaping my eyebrows as well as doing my waxing and facials for over eight years with amazing results. She knows how to make waxing virtually pain free and her facials are designed to restore your skin to the highest level of health that can be achieved. She tailors each persons treatment to their personal needs and is always up on the latest beauty and skin information. She is funny, fun, quirky, and wonderful to be around making the entire appointment enjoyable. My entire family now goes to her for all our skin care needs. She's awesome and I could never see myself going to anyone else in the Tampa Bay area!

I was able to find my missing/disappearing reviews when searching on the Google+Local search bar. This brought up the client reviews that have been posted recently which are NOT showing up on my main Google+ (former Place Page). There seems to be a disconnect between these two & they need to be merged.

The second link just shows that the poster shared the review with her Google Plus stream. So it shows there. It has likely been tagged as spam by Google.

Can you have the poster remove the first review?

I elevated to google to see if they might be willing to look at the situation.

I have a small business working against all odds to survive and no one on this planet has given more to clients than I have for the last 13 years, 7 days a week and evenings to take care of my clients. I had pages and pages of 5 star reviews which people went out of their way to write for the added extra I gave and the most beautiful permanent cosmetics possible.  I have many elderly clients that don't have computers and a few used my computer but, putting their names in so it could be checked by anyone. They are listed in the phone book. All the others were from all over even the country and it was my saving grace up against big money doctors that have endless pockets for web people and are endlessly using my Domain name in all their listings trying to steal the business from coming toward me. People had the ability to learn who gave the most for the best price and the advance training to do it right.
Then bang I look up and pages after pages of 5 stars gone and the only three left with two of them from a person that came in with total intent on either getting free service or creating a lawsuit and I caught her at it.. But, because referred by a long term medical professional client. She didn't follow simple instructions I gave to keep her eyes closed after I applied eye numbing agent to the lash line. Then she complained of slight blurred vision and speaking directly to the eye doctor then told her I did not want to do her. She went into a rage about losing time off her job, etc, etc. so I finished the work. I rinsed and rinsed with saline and I pull the lid away from the eye when I work. When it was time to pay me using the excuse of the blurred vision as the reason I told her that was totaly unfair I don't work for free.. I have done eye liners since 1993 without problems and this taught me one more serious lesson. Sadly many people are not like I am pure at heart and small businesses can be serious targets. As our country suffers more sadly more of these types of things will happen so my prayers are things get better for all so people have resources to pay for what they want and need. I am always giving discounts and breaks much more I bet then any of the other businesses.
Google needs to realize small businesses hire web people that represent themselves as knowledgeable and sometimes they might not be but, to do this to a small business is to destroy some of the best providers and best people's life. There is no amount of money makes up for the damage done and this is another example of freedom stolen away......Please right your wrong.
