How am I able to share my video without it being blocked due to audio copyright? NorthLightStar 7/22/12 12:52 PM
I made a video with photos I took flying in Alaska and added audio by Ozzy & Creed.  I wish to keep the songs I added but am having trouble contacting the copyright owners.  If I am using this for personal use only, and not for profit, it there a way around this so I can share with my friends & family??

There is a way to use music you own in a video for your own personal use, burn it to a DVD.

But if you upload it to YouTube, you either need to use music that is cleared for use on YouTube.

The big players in the industry have NO incentive, whatsoever, to let you distribute their copyrighted content around the world for free on YouTube, so they don't bother providing a way to ask them.

i truly hate the big players in the industry, can't imagine the huge loss of posting a video with some copyrighted song playing in the car driving in the background with the back window opened, as to your problem you can always put something in your description like i do not own, for fair use only or some bs like that.. or put Section 4 DPA + Art. 12 Directive 95/46/EG in there.. although im pretty sure they never read descriptions before deleting your channel but it might help if u wanna go to court
