Hi everyone,
We’ve been hearing from many of you that it’s confusing and frustrating when the monetization icon changes back-and-forth between green and yellow. This can happen because our automated system repeatedly scans each video using the latest information available, which may cause the system to change its decision.
We’ve been working on improving this experience and today, we’re releasing an update to the automated system that will improve accuracy and significantly decrease icon flip-flopping. In other words, for new video uploads, you should notice the icon changing color much less often. For previously uploaded videos, you may see icons that were yellow turn to green as the updated system takes another look at all videos. You may also see icons that were previously green turn to yellow. We know our systems don't always get it right, so if you feel the yellow icon is a mistake, please appeal.
Similar to our update back in October, today’s improvement is only possible because of the millions of human reviews that you’ve requested through the appeals process–these reviews continue to train and improve our machine learning technology.

my account lose the dollar sign but the monitization still run its only lose the sign but not the tools and still remain eligible for monitizing ...there is no issue in my channel all pass the policy and theres no copyright strike on any of my video...i am not worry because ads still run what i am worry is no dolar sign,

Yeah I just posted the same thing. My icons are missing and I panicked. I think it must be a glitch

Hi, it's been multiple MONTHS and I am STILL waiting to be monetized. I have made videos almost every single day and none of them are monetized because I am still getting reviewed. can anyone explain why i read you now need 1k subs to use ad sense but i have seen 2 channels with less than 1k subs and they still have ads on their videos? Also ive been on youtube sinse 2007 so why is seniority not being considered in this change? I have about 500 subs and cannot use ads anymore why is it allowed on other channels that are under 1k subs?

Is that because it is displaying the amount of hours required to meet the 4,000 hours in order to monetize videos?
I have well over 4,000 hours, but when you all switched to the new monetization rules last month, I know that you all accidentally miscalculated. You you can take care of it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Need my monetization restored. Y:all need to do something. I totally disagree with what YouTube decide to do; Especially because I love creating content. I have eveidence that you all didn't count the amount of hours watched within the last 12 months as being 4,000. Finally someone admits the bugs though since it was introduced, all the moderators here have been saying their is no bugs.. then they declare they are not working for youtube team.. so who the hell are they?

Oh and I forgot to mention: Just go to YouTube > Creator Studio > Channel > Monetization. If it says you can enable, click enable monetization to apply for it.

Just on this monetization issue, I see youtube has changed the requirements which makes me feel like closing my page down now as it is virtually impossible to reach the criteria required to be able to earn money, am I right in saying that you now require 1000 subscribers and 4000 viewing hours for you to be able to earn money now? Bit unfair considering many of us have been using this great way of sharing videos on here since the early 2000's which has helped youtube grow into the monster that it is today.
