I am a cover channel with almost 25k subs after one month and four videos.
I have a few videos uploaded but my most popular now has over 8700k+ views now.
I received an email informing me that I was eligible for revenue sharing and I started to notice ads on my videos...
but I am still waiting for my channel to be approved for monetization?
It is very frustrating to me that other people are making money off of my content when I'm still waiting for approval. If other people can access my content and make money off of my hard work, I feel cheated knowing that I can not.
It has been a very long time since I applied for monetization, and I know you guys are very busy. I just believe that if I, the creator of the content, can not make money off of my own hard work then it does not seem right that other people can.
with the rate my video is getting views I will be at one million very soon and have not seen a penny while other people are making money.
I am very thankful for youtube and the platform it provides for people like me to share my talents and my message with the world, and I appreciate you trying to grow and develop as a company to protect my content and the content of others.
but please, consider either not allowing copyright owners to profit before the creator can, or maybe hurry with the approval?

I have been waiting for over 2 months now for monetization to be approved on my daughters channel. The review process after we hit 10,000 views began over 2 months ago. I have contacted Google and they direct me back to Forums on YouTube. I have not gotten any response from YouTube when I send messages through the feedback and did not get any helpful response from the Forum. My 6 year old daughter watches the more popular channels and asks me every day why her channel can't have ads and why she can't be famous like others on YouTube. It is so frustrating trying to explain this to her every day and see the look of disappointment on her face.

No wonder so many people are giving up and losing faith on youtube and even running to other websites where they are actually respected as content creators, these reviews are taking so long merely because they decided to pick, choose and judge the potential of each channel and estimate their own earnings based on it. What's with the 2-3 weeks excuse when there are people waiting for over 2 months? Seriously...for the sake of money, they are killing content variety and using those petty excuses based on a malfunctioning algorithm that they claim to be "smart" and a whole bunch of shady rules they never fully explain. Most of the complaints here will not be taken into account folks, most of you guys will end up waiting until june or july, and certainly I will too...time to explore different websites with better alternatives! Review started Nov 2, 2017. As of Jan 10 2018 I have not received any correspondence from YouTube. It is very disheartening that YouTube continues to leave it's primary workers (the content creators) in the dark as we continue to churn out quality content. Shame.

I have been a youtube partner for several years. 1,5 year ago I joined a MCN were I stopped last december. After this my monetization stopped and I had to appeal for it again.

I totally understand how hectic it can be in the YouTube offices. I, like many here, have got over 165K views in the past 10 days and of course we look at it as missed opportunities if our page isn't approved. I want to keep posting but also feel I shouldn't only because I want to capitalize on the YouTube Partner Program as soon as possible.
Like I said before I'm sure you and your team work extremely hard. I'm based in Los Angeles, and have been to the YouTube studios for seminars. I'm willing to come work for free (volunteer/temp intern) if that can help you and your team at all. Of course I would like to expedite my own process, but I know many others are in my position and if I can help them too then I'm willing.

Waiting months to get approved? It does not really encourage putting hard work into content when Youtube is dropping the ball like this. And yes, this is a mess, even if fanbois will run in to defend now. Bad planning and bad organisation leads to problems like this. There fellow YouTube users, YouTube is no longer monetizing videos! I see people with over 200,000 viewer still on queue waiting to be reviewed to no avail. They have terminated hundreds of thousands channels, most with no clear reasons. And they have selected some few thousands channels to work with. Otherwise, how do you explain that a channel with over 200,000 views and 4000 subscribers is still awaiting review?

Problem is that, Creators are getting so many views and they feel it wasted without Monetization. Some Creators are waiting since 3-4 Months or even more in a hope that their Channel will get monetized. But as time passes they start losing hope, feeling of effortlessness, anger turns into words and ultimately they show no more interest. Every time it is said that "it is taking longer than normal time to review". But then this question comes to mind: How Much? If we have the answer to JUST this questions, we can at least have hope. Creators love YouTube but they are not feeling loved back. This is all what I can conclude with the comments I read above in this Thread. I know YouTube is dealing with some internal issues which is not shared with YouTube Partners. But THINK ABOUT IT :)

A few years ago, I had a starter blog and applied to Adsense. I never activated that account. Then, I applied to Adense through my new YouTube channel. It was also never activated. I NOW know that you can't have two adsense accounts. Since they were never activated, they could not be cancelled. FINALLY, I went ahead and activated one thinking I could cancel it.

Guys, For the watch time I suggest you to upload a 10 hours video, every week (with shit content, it doesn’t matter) and ask a few friends to watch it all (mute and on a separate window) while they are working on their laptops. About 50 hours of watch time a week and within a few weeks, the watch time will no longer be a problem. I know it’s cheating. But YouTube tricked us this all time and we don’t deserve it. Hey guys, this is an issue forum, for people that are under the new required amount you have your answer - please dont spam this message board asking for subscribers - firstly its against youtube policys and second it doesnt really work, if you want more subscribers you need to earn them with your content - you might lose your channel by flooding this with please subscribe. When I applied for monetization, I had met the original threshold that at first required the 10,000 views and a certain number of subscribers. The message I received was that my channel was in review. Then, several days later there was a new message stating that the application process was taking longer than expected. Recently, I came back to check that there is now a new threshold of 4,000 watch hours for the past 12 months and at least 1,000 subscribers. For the ones that applied before the new threshold, does that mean our application is now void and that we must start our application process over once we met the new requirements? Also, I read the article on the new threshold and what my understanding of this new requirement is that at anytime we fall below the threshold we will be removed from the YouTube Partner Program. Is my understanding correct?

I totally disagree with Youtube with changing the the monetization requirement from 10K to views to 4,000 watch hours and 1000 Sub when a lot of us were waiting for weeks or months already including myself. That's going to take forever for most new Youtuber. I think if Youtube wants to increase the requirement for monetization, at least let people who already have 10K views get reviewed and for people who haven't reached 10K or new people, they would have to follow the new requirement. I say this because it's like Youtube cheated on us who already have 10K views. I know a lot of you are thinking sub 4 sub, but it's not allowed:

I’m so glad I’m not alone! I hit 10k views early November and it automatically went to review. Ever since then it just says it’s under review. I’ve heard NOTHING!! It’s so frustrating. I even didn’t upload for 3-4 weeks as I wanted to wait until it was approved so I could hopefully get some revenue from the new videos, as I knew that a couple would make a thousand plus views! But after waiting and waiting I still have not heard, so I just uploaded again and am back to uploading weekly again. It’s frustrating as I see others with less subs and far less views than me and they have ads and are monetised. Strangely enough I see all the ones that are quick to be done in the US, where as in the UK and other places in the world we all seem to have to wait!! I do hope they hurry up as I’ve got a list as long as my arm of videos to get uploaded that I’m confident will get a good amount of views. 🙁

I understand. YT is doing all this to better reward committed creators...I’m kind of new to doing YT too. I’m putting more time in it as to make it become my full time job in the near future...Do not limit yourself in the beauty indunstry if it’s that competitive; you could post anything you want on your channel to get people with different watch wants to view your contents and potentially become your subs. The YT system helps you build your audience by recommending your videos to people who would watch them...You just need to upload consistently and match your tittles, descriptions, thumbnails with similar trending vids...Well, it’s very late I need to get somebody sleep...Wish you the very best 😉

Here's some repeated advise...If you already hit the threshold, STOP UPLOADING! Until YouTube actually starts approving channels, your wasting your time making them money. You should wait until they approve you so that all the content that you would be uploading now and getting views on can be uploaded when your approved and you will be getting paid for all those views.

Quesney Rams works for YouTube. That's why he/she is trying to get you to keep uploading videos. It's funny how I get a response from a Pro YouTuber when I call them out and most people don't. This is the game people. Again if you've hit the threshold, STOP UPLOADING! Eventually when the number of new videos fall, YouTube will have to start reviewing channels to keep the interest of new content up. If you keep uploading without getting monetized, you are benefiting them and only them while they are keeping the benefits down for everyone who is not getting paid.

I reached the 10,000 lifetime views threshold about 2 months ago and I'm still waiting for my acceptance email. Do i have to reach the new guidelines of 4,000 hours and 1,000 subscribers now since i wasnt accepted in time? Because if thats the case then I'm done with youtube.

I hit the 10,000 milestone and it went in review but they waited and waited until they released the new guidelines so they didn't have to monetize our content that we worked so hard on. Similar to my situation. Left an MCN after waiting 2 years to be free. I was looking forward to the day I could link my YouTube channel back to adsense with just a few clicks. I was actually worried I'd lose 1 day of monetization which is worth about $100. I've currently lost over $2000 from missed revenue. What a joke. It took me 4 years to finnally start making something and it's all taken away over a stupid new update.

I'll be honest, it is starting to look like there'll not be approving new accounts any longer. And yes, I have a gut feeling that come 20th March they'll still be saying that it'll take a 'few' weeks for the reviews to be completed.
Something has clearly gone wrong at YT headquarters and they're trying to work out what to do, without keeping their users in the loop.
If they can no longer provide monetization for new accounts then I wish they'd at least be honest.

Hello everyone!
I would like to report a problem in my account I created in 2010. In December of 2017 for no clear reason Youtube decided that I am not longer partner. At the same point my account had 0 copyrights problems and violations of the rules of the youtube community, a fact which applies till today as you can see in the attachment.
After this incident, I deleted all the videos which may, supposed, that may be the problem and in the beginning of the last month I applied again to be reviewed and I got again rejected.
Then, I deleted, I felt like self-destroying my channel, more and more videos with no copyright problems, for no reason, just to be approved and a day before I applied again with the hope to have a positive answer.
My channel has over 1 million views in the last 3 months and its last clear revenue, of November, was 272,14 dollars..Money which I worked hard and did not payed yet.

Bruh, why is everyone repeating the same exact questions while YT said the review process will start from Feb 20th?? The date is getting closer, so let’s start to expect to hear from YT from next week guys...The Logans aren’t the cause for YT changes guys, it has been clearly explained in a video from You creator channel...if you’re considering doing YT as a job, subscribe to the creator channel to know what’s going on. Also subscribe to the creator academy channel to learn more about how to grow your channels...Follow the YT Creator Twitter...there are plainty ways to learn and know how to work with YT...I received an email announcement about these tough changes back in early November 2017...Also there is a whole article explaining the reasons why there are new rules and regulations on the YT official Blog...CNN published a whole other page back in January about YT tougher rules...Paul Logan has nothing to do with it. Can I please ask a question? Are YT actually reviewing these applications or are they on hold? The reason I ask is that if you're not reviewing them then you're going to have a ridiculously huge backlog to get through come February 20th. Nobody online has said they've been approved in the last 3 months so I'm absolutely baffled and very concerned as to why you haven't approved anyone for monetization since November/December.

I am so angry at YT and how they can't give solid answers so we're left walking around not knowing what's going on. Oh well, the one size fits all purge has started.
Despite over 4,000 viewing hours in the last year; being a Youtube film producer client since April 2007 with 452 films on my channel that has a steadily growing viewing audience of over 2,014,600 with anywhere between 500 to 900 views a day averaging over 20 views an hour, 24 hours a day, Youtube/ Google still does not understand the viewing habits of the Public.
I have 763 subscriptions, vast difference with the viewing numbers
The Public do not like to be tied down to something, they get restless after a while and continue to surf the channels without subscribing. It's like you can only go to the movies if you subscribe to that cinema. Let cinema chains pull that one.
So what happens now? Remember you are talking to software programs who don't reason, have no human compassion, are not interested in your heartbreak stories, act without guilt and are ready to terminate....!!
I'll continue to up load, work on my Blogger site, as making films is my hobby and joy. The owed revenue, about A$40 or so looks like it's held in The Twilight Zone. Fortunately I have taken copies of everything.
Those who talk of having their own seperate web site for their films with ads will find it hard if not impossible to attract advertisers as they will be looking at the vast numbers too. Good luck with that.

I never complain about anything, i prefer to put my energy at work. I've been uploading videos for the 3 months i've been asking for monetization because i didn't want to do it just for the money reward. But this is now too much. Your community communication is more than terrible, you're making a fool of everyone who is putting efforts into his Youtube work. Problem is not to have to wait 3 months. Problem is that it's not acceptable to lie to people like you're doing. No channel has been reviewed for the last months, no need to be a genius to see that, i've been looking at the forums a lot and no one has come to say "hey why didn't you accept my review for partnership" or anything related. I think this policy is not good, my channel has some nice contents of my travels, I have more than 81000 views but only 180 subscribers, with this youtube I enter as a low quality channel ... please .... policies are ???? I think it's clear now what's happening. YouTube are clearly not going to be monetizing anyone from now on and are demonetizing users regardless of whether they met the requirements or not. YouTube can then show ads anyhow and claim 100% profit.
It looks like the days of making money on YouTube is over for new creators.

maybe you can consider this insightful thoughts I have, this goes to the whole Youtube Team, why not just monetize all channels who surpass and get through the monetization threshold so that we can continue our work to publish quality content to earn income and in return you get profit from our traffics which I think is a win win situation to all of us both creator and the moderator.Then continue with your review of every channel who pass through the threshold and if there would be some channels that break the rules of the youtube program policies you can shut it down right away.I think this would help to make the process fast,because this kind of system has been unfair to alot of us who are putting up a lot of effort to make content considering that we already waited for atleast 2-3 month which looks like a punishmnt to all of us even though we have done nothing wrong hope the youtube consider this request

I'm sorry but you are not going to get monetized. You don't have any original content. Everything on your channel is taken from news sources, movies, or television channels. It goes against the youtube partner program rules regarding copyright infringement. No offense but this is exactly the type of channel they are trying to sort out and get rid of.

Bargain barons, Just for your information, there is no official staff presense on the forum, they just come and make threads and go. Everything is controlled by the mods and they contact the staff if required. The channel you talk about does not meet the YPP requirements so it is demonetized now. And note that they said 5 months. Everything was going well till mid nov, that's when they stopped reviewing channels, so perhaps the comment talks of something before that.
The moderators here will not contact the staff if you keep reposting, because they know what's going on behind the scenes. One channel will not be escalated for review because you ask for it, they will review the thousands of waiting channel one by one, first reached first reviewed.

I've been posting videos every single week during last 2+ years. Now I'm done. I explained this situation in a last video and my subscribers supported me. For me personally it is already ugly what Youtube does with us. Every update is told the same story to wait for 2 more weeks .Many of the creators have lost subscribers for this cause. Hello everyone. I am not going to use derogatory words to express the way I feel about this, I will keep it professional. What I will say is that if YouTube hired 10,000 people to make the platform better, why is everything on the platform taking so long to get processed? Besides me being wrongfully demonetized on February 20th due to a system error on YouTube, I've reported several videos where people are clearly stating hate speech towards me including calling me a racist. These are MAJOR community guideline violations where I have flagged these videos and even contacted creator support. It took creator support 4 days to respond to these hate speech issues I reported, but these videos are still up in public status where these people are clearly defaming me! I wanted to make everyone aware of this because YouTube is not only taking a long time regarding monetization accounts, they are taking a long time to remove videos that violate their terms and conditions! While there isn't much anyone of us can do as we are at the liberty of YouTube, I just wanted to share my thoughts with the hopes of YouTube seeing this and at least taking care of removing these hateful videos from the platform to help keep the community safe. You're joking right?! You can't make money on other peoples music you'll never get monetized, I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you if you genuinly thought your content was monotizable. Your channel is the reason the rest of us have to wait for human reviews of all new channels.

Sometimes what you see is not always the case.
First of all, I give artists exposure in exchange for views and subs (This is completely normal in this industry and the main reason Record Labels exist). In my case, no money has been made, as music is one of my main passions in life and it's lovely to help other artists receive exposure when they deserve it.
Second of all, perhaps you have noticed it's been months since I stopped uploading music. This is because I have been working on rebranding my channel and offering new personal content and my own music (stuff that I will be able to monetise). It is a gift that now have a decent platform to work with but I'm waiting for it to be monetised so I can earn compensation for all my hard work. Do you think it is fair that I can't have this opportunity? Am I really the reason Youtube is behaving so poorly? Think again before you write down your comments..

You should take it back and stop this reviewing thing because it will lead to a mess. Your law of 1k subs and 4k hrs is perfectly enough. The accident of Logan Paul doesn't deserve all of this. This is very frustrating being that my channel has met all the criteria and that it is in good standing. My channel has been continuing to grow and I was in hopes that by the end of February (as u guys stated before) i would get an email from you guys revealing the status, now its pushed back another two months. True as my previous prediction, youtube increasingly unclear, from Monday, Tuesday, from Wednesday to Thursday, from Thursday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. information is increasingly long-winded, like guessing the darts in the dark, the beginning of the destruction of a big company is by giving false information.
This truly is heartbreaking.
We need some honesty. I can't help but think that they've somehow 'lost' the applications from November 2017 to the 20th February, hence why creators who have applied for monetization within the last few days are being approved within hours/days.
Something's not right at YouTube headquarters and it appears they're scrambling to resolve this without having to admit it.

So, the monetization time period for the application reviews just changed from 2-3 weeks until the end of April. Now I'm confused by what this means. Does this mean that we will still receive an email update about our monetization applications in 2-3 weeks? Sir my channel has more than 32k watch hours and 8k subscribe. Under review from 7dec with old criteria and and before the new rules for monetization I have already crossed new criteria. But still no update from you tube. Can you give me right time how much it will take.
Now my prediction become reality. Youtube already planned to changed their monetization policy from 10,000 views to 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscribers on November 2017. While they applied it on January 20th, 2018, they still giving creators time until February 20th, 2018. So I believe that within than time they actually APPROVE NO CHANNELS. So the real review is actually started in February 20th, 2018. This explain why they have so much backlog task to review channels... To be honest, it is not fair for the creator however we still need to follow their rules since we are using their platform.
