Blocked user able to respond to me Dayziecat 7/1/12 5:27 PM
I blocked a user who I didn't want to contact me, but they are still able to respond to my comments on videos (that aren't mine).
This is a huge oversight to the "block" feature. Blocked people should not even be able to see me, and I shouldn't see them. Period.
How can I stop this person from responding to me?

You cannot block a user from accessing other users' content, sorry.

I agree that there should be a Block User function that prevents a user or their content from EVER appearing ANYWHERE while you are signed into your channel, regardless of the circumstances, but that's unlikely to happen.

It doesn't block their posts on OTHER users' videos. You don't have the right to block someone from posting on other users' videos.

I'm not saying they can't post on other people's videos. I just don't want to see their posts, or have them see mine. It shouldn't matter where on Youtube the posts are made...block means I become invisible to them (which is the case on every other website).

Not hardly...

Sorry, but on this website you gets what you pays for, and that does not include making you selectively invisible.

I agree that would be a nice feature, but that's not what the Block User tool does. It blocks them from directly messaging you, commenting on your videos, or subscribing to you. That's it, that's all it's designed to do, and despite users requesting a more robust Block User function for years and years that's all it will do.

Bottom line is you can't block anybody who is really persistent. They'll just keep opening new accounts. You keep blocking and they keep opening. Best advise ignore them.
