How do I know if our channel was accepting into the YouTube EDU University directory? snowgurl 5/31/12 2:13 PM
More than a month ago I went through all of the steps to include our university department in the EDU directory. I joined the Partners program, monetized a video, etc. How do I know if/when we will be listed in the directory? I can't even find a way to search the EDU directory so I have no idea if we're in there or not. We produce many videos for different educational programs -- K-12, college courses, and community/extension courses. We've had issues with the K-12 classrooms not able to view our videos, so the EDU designation would really help with that.

Evidently, YouTube doesn't have a contact email or anyone to ask directly. I'm just stuck. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Thanks for helping me out! I did finally get an email a few weeks ago that said we were "accepted" and just now found us in the directory -- I was looking under the wrong title! But I've only found us in the "higher ed" directory.

So, how can I get listed in the K-12 directory? Our content is pretty much split between higher ed and K-12. I'm not sure that it matters too much for how we use YouTube as we usually send links directly to the students/teachers involved in a program.

And, probably a stupid question ... if I now send a link to a student or teacher in a classroom, will they be able to view the movie just like that, or would I need to send a special link or tag movies that need to be available through the EDU program?

It's really hard to find just basic information about how to start/manage the EDU program. :)

Thanks!
