|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||PoiMage||10/12/11 8:25 PM|
The list of subscribed channels should be migrated into the Cosmic Panda channels.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||calish||10/13/11 7:24 AM|
first of all....
is it an experiment or is it just beta version?
it lacks ALOT of features, and yep, some bugs as well
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||calish||10/13/11 7:26 AM|
I mean... will it be mandatory in the future, or will it be just optional?
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||YT Kendall||10/13/11 10:30 AM|
@calish Experiments definitely help inform our future decisions, but it is an experiment, so you can opt-out at any time.
I'd love to hear your elaboration on lacking features & bugs.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Epic Failure||10/13/11 4:57 PM|
Upon the latest update with Cosmicpanda, I notice that posting on other people's channel doesn't appear any more and I only see "Post Channel Bulletin" on my own page. I have lurked around my own page and other and I don't see any box or button about commenting. Also, when I try to change the channel template which end up leading me to an error showing "500 Internal Server Error."
Some answers would be nice. :3
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||calish||10/14/11 12:59 AM|
okay. so lets start with lacking features:
-advanced branding including custom gadgets-live tab
-"ask your audience"
-shows tab (only playlists are shown in videos tab)-viewing all pages of comments
-transparency?(i wanted to try to list more but suddenly after switching to "everything" mode 500 error appeared)
I cannot view my channel now.
bugs? first of all, you made links in channel feed (subscriptions) go to http://www.youtube.com/user/MyChannel's channel instead of http://www.youtube.com/user/MyChannel
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||calish||10/14/11 1:01 AM|
-comments only mode fails on some channels like user/Fred
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||calish||10/14/11 1:02 AM|
channel comments icons FAIL
in feed, i can see data-thumb set to channel icon instead of comment poster channel icon
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ricardo032010||10/14/11 2:21 AM|
Kendall I want option to move all my channel boxes around in cosmicpanda, I'd rather be able to keep my profile box to the left instead of the right.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ChristmasApe||10/14/11 10:59 PM|
I'm using the new layout in Chrome, and there seems to be some grey bars on the left side of every thumbnail.
I checked with Firefox and IE, and they don't show up, only in Chrome.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Acacio Santana||10/15/11 6:18 AM|
When you go to a channel with 30+ videos, the option "sort by view count" can help you to find the most relevant videos.
On CosmicPanda I can't sort channel videos by View Count, or at least, there's not a easy way to do that.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Justin .||10/15/11 7:55 AM|
Thank you for re-implementing the 'featured video' on the channel AS WELL as autoplay. Step in the right direction.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||bobicool||10/15/11 3:26 PM|
Love the new layout and colours, it blends with my black chair, black monitor and black computer case ;)
-The new channels designs. It doesn't seem to be optimized for easy navigating. It takes me a lot of unnecessary clicks to reach a desired video. The Thumbnails are to big, I would shrink them to half and use the extra space for other stuff.
-I'm positive this is already in the works, but just to be sure: There is no auto-play option when viewing a playlist. It is kind of annoying having to manually change videos.
-When using the "video size" options, the largest one takes way to much place. There seems to be to big of a gap between the medium and big video size. I would suggest the option to be proportional to the screen size of the user.
-It's fun to know when a video has been "watched", but when the video is in my favourites I don't need a reminder that I watched it because of course I watched it, I put it in my favourites for safe keeping.
-The option to find similar videos (like with Google image search). You just have to add the option next to the thumbnail and voilà (and figure out the algorithm..but pfff that's why you have engineers)
-Cross Browser support for navigating a channel while still watching a video (curently chrome only, would like to see this arrive on other browsers as well)
-Oh, and trace back comment replies. Sometimes, the top comments are replies to another comment..and it's next to impossible to find the original comment to which the commenter was referring to. Option #1: What would be nice is if you could add an option, just next to the comment to "View the comment thread" and when you click it, it expands to let you see the thread (then you can close it to read the other comments, and all this while the video is playing). Option #2: When you click on the @username it can bring up the profile of the commenter and his recent comments on different videos (currently when you click on @username it brings you to @username's page, and more often then not it says "no recent activity" when in fact he is a very active commenter).
So that's it. Just wanted to give my feedback. Keep up the great work :P
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||zomgguy||10/15/11 11:10 PM|
The thumbnails in the Channel view are massive. Please make them smaller =)
Right now, advertisements utterly destroy the video positioning; the video frame is pushed to the side and the ad is placed *below* the video which is just unsightly. And the ads are so intrusive! I can't believe some videos have *fucking annoying* pre-roll ads that go for up to 30 secs when they don't even have many views. The annoyance is exacerbated when the actual video itself is very short. Sometimes the pre-roll ad's audio keeps playing concurrently with the actual video which I'm sure is a glitch. *All* pre-roll ads should have a "skip this ad" button.
I prefer the old post-roll "Related Videos" view which had one large segment and four smaller segments below it. I don't really like the new grid of "Related Videos", there are too many and they're all too small so I can't be bothered reading them all.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ericdeben||10/16/11 9:53 AM|
What happened to being able to browse the channel while playing the video in the corner?
Also, I can't leave channel comments.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||YT Kendall||10/17/11 12:57 PM|
Great feedback everyone, thanks for your input.
@ChristmasApe I appreciate the screengrab! Most helpful.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ChristmasApe||10/17/11 3:33 PM|
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of those annoying autoplaying flash ads. Seems to be the crappy, low-budget banner ads at the bottom of the page most of the time.
Some play techno music, sometimes it's the infamous "Congratulations! You Won!". These were never on youtube before.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||YouTube Partner||10/17/11 11:40 PM|
YouTube's advertisers are buying Branded Channels EACH DAY! What's the point if you're soon going to take away their Branding Options from their channels? Or what's the point of giving it to everyone?
Please let YouTube Partners and Sponsors ONLY keep our ability to upload custom banners, thumbnails etc! Thanks!
No, don't take away our Branding Options,
And NO, don't give it to everyone!!
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ChristmasApe||10/18/11 4:38 AM|
Apparently this "YouTube Partner" person has been spamming that same paragraph over and over across the Feedback & Suggestions forum. In fact, that is all he's posted.
At the very least, make some guidelines for the ads they decide to spam, like no autoplaying sounds/music. It ruins the site and will drive users away to other video hosting sites.
I don't mind the 5 second ads that play before a video or something, but those intrusive autoplay flash ads at the bottom of the page need to go.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Tenosis||10/20/11 12:47 AM|
My only request is that the site doesn't get dumbed down too much. I actually found it easier to find videos a year ago than I do now.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Desslock85||10/20/11 8:40 AM|
Hasn't the reaction to cosmic panda basically been very negative?
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||YT Kendall||10/20/11 2:34 PM|
@desslock85 Keep in mind that this is an experiment & feedback is incredibly necessary to this process. It's typical that people respond with a binary of comments. While "I love it!" is encouraging, it isn't the most constructive. "Negative" comments where people detail what they're having difficulty with is where a lot of the value is. So, I encourage you to not look at it, right now, as positive or negative. But instead realize how all your input is helping us, no matter what the sentiment.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||YT Kendall||10/20/11 2:35 PM|
Also, to everyone, please realize that while I may not respond to every post here, all of your comments are being read & relayed to the team. I appreciate you all taking the time!
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||zomgguy||10/23/11 4:46 AM|
Could you please make the YouTube player stop streaming video without a cache...not everyone has unlimited or fast internet. We don't all have huge bandwidth like in the US. Pre-loading a video and storing a cache is very useful for those who have a slower capped internet. Thank you!
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||PoiMage||10/24/11 5:04 PM|
Just noticed that with video responses seen below the video page, their video titles are cut off.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Erik32222222||10/25/11 7:04 AM|
Ugh, these changes aren't good. But luckily Adblocker stops those annoying ads. But I'm using CP for a long time now, but please, set channel comments on! And let us look to videos on channels again.. And don't give response like "I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing some frustration". Of course you don't care about this. You think:"screw you, just use it and forgot the old version".
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ChristmasApe||10/26/11 5:39 PM|
Here's something else happening in Chrome, when you click on stats, the stats are pushed all the way down, below the suggested videos on the right, leaving a big empty space.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||TheChrisD||10/26/11 6:15 PM|
More drastic channel page changes, interesting...
Uploaded videos and playlists on the Videos tab both appear to be sorted the opposite way than they should be normally - i.e. Uploaded videos display oldest-newest by default; and playlists display newest-oldest by default. When ideally they should be the other way around.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||ta946||10/26/11 11:47 PM|
Problems that seem to be happening with the new interface....
1. pressing the left arrow key to seek back to the beginning causes the video to bug out and stop playing. must re-position the seek bar to play again.
(the arrow key jumps 30 seconds, if you press the left arrow key to seek backward when the playing position is less than 30 seconds, i.e. 20 seconds, it causes the video to mess up. only happens at the beginning of the video, doesnt happen if its in the middle of the video, i.e. more than 30 seconds)
2. im on a 1280x800 screen and using chrome, when i restore down the chrome window (not maximised), the player seems to be cut off from the left side and cannot be seen/accessed.
video positioning seems messed up when the window is not maximised.
3. when selecting the last video size (i assume 'fit-to-screen'), a cm or 2 of the video is covered from the bottom while playing, and the controls (play/pause button, volume control, video length, annotations toggle, resolution/playback quality and fullscreen button) just disappear. it would be handy if they auto-hide and appear when you move the mouse like it does in fullscreen mode.
this isnt a problem, more a suggestion: instead of blanking out the bottom section (comments, related videos, user and video details, etc) when on the last video size like it does now, it would be nice to be able to access them like with the rest of the video size options. As it is now, there is little difference between it and the fullscreen option. it would be nice to see the video while fit to the screen, AND be able to scroll down and view comments or video details and what not.
4.When playing a video on the third video size, the player is bigger than the screen, overshooting a little to the right, but you cannot scroll that extra bit to the right to be able to see the whole video.
Also, a small gray box appears on the bottom left corner, covering part of the video. However, this problem doesnt appear to happen on select videos; like "Armin van buuren - the sound of goodbye" uploaded by 'armadamusic': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmALuDVrcA4
I suspect its a glitch due to the feedback tab that slides on the left as it fits perfectly into the box when scrolling down.
I thought the box didn't appear in 'The sound of goodbye' video because it was old/uploaded a few years back, but the problem still appeared in older videos.
to help, ill link 4 snapshots showing the grey box.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/xfeix/Cosmic%20Panda/1.jpg - doesnt have the box
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/xfeix/Cosmic%20Panda/2.jpg - box covering video
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/xfeix/Cosmic%20Panda/3.jpg - feedback fits perfect into the box when scrolling down
5.Last but not least, Bring back the loading/progress bar! it is very important
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Henri Afari||10/28/11 1:18 PM|
still cannot watch youtube live, still cannot add friends, the last resize button on firefox browser hide the controls and the video has taken the whole page, cannot use it this way. fix the background images for channels, cosmic panda makes the images half
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Henri Afari||10/28/11 1:20 PM|
when you TYPE TOO MUCH, THE TEXT IMAGE CAPTCHA are pushed all the way down, leaving a big empty space, BEFORE you even see the comments
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||CaspianRoach||10/30/11 11:51 PM|
'Uploaded videos' page seem to have returned to non-cosmic panda view (tiled tiny thumbnails of videos http://www.youtube.com/user/TigerTaiga/videos?view=u).
Is there a way to keep the new listed view? The one that playlists use in cosmicpanda? It was great actually being able to read full names of the videos and see a bigger thumbnail of the video.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Maxwilly||10/31/11 1:09 PM|
Once upon a time, I could comment on channels. I had to take CosmicPanda off because of this. -.-
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||King Kolton9||11/1/11 2:28 PM|
I think we should be able to switch between a completely grey background, and a completely white background via a button on the page. I also think that we should be able to choose between sizes of reccomeded videos. I also think that we should be able to line up playlists (Including the favorites playlist) and drag videos to other playlists. I noticed that if you jump screen sizes in a row (Biggest to small) it is fine, but if you jump from smallest to biggest to anywhere in between, the video gets shoved into a corner. That's pretty much it.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Erik32222222||11/1/11 11:23 PM|
I just deleted my almost 4 year old Gmail account, because I don't like the ugly new interface.
And I always must set off CP to see which country a user comes from.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Popupkille||11/2/11 3:13 PM|
I dont know if this is CP, but my list of playlists is all screwed up.
It used to be listed alphabeticaly, so that if I had playlists I used often, I put [these] around them, and they would show up on the top, and in a specific order.
Now they are suddenly sorted by when they were created, which I dont like.
And I get alot of videos in my inbox of different types of genres, so I add them to playlists so that I can watch them later, and not loose them from my sub box
But it seems that the way you add to playlists is being worked on, because it has changed twice the last month, and today, suddenly, I dont get all my playlists in the dropdown, only the first 5 or so.

1.Get rid of the templates and just allow us to customize module locations the way we want to.
2. Let us change the colors of fonts, modules, etc.
3. Let us change font style.
4. Allow us to have transparency on our channels so we can see our backgrounds.
5. Make the subscribe button yellow.
6.Make us change the color of the youtube players like embedded sites using youtube videos.
7.Please add the Add as Friend button in the users channel.
8. How come i cant watch YouTube live on this layout, Fix it, cause it really sucks.
9. Movies button was next to Browse button and Upload button next to your username. Now its gone.
10.Fix the YouTube banners for advertising links to social networks like SKB,CHRIS PIRILLO,others,ALSO FOR PARTNERS
11.Fix the background images for channels. It doesnt fit the channel Cosmic panda looks bigger, so images must be bigger, now images fit half the cosmic panda backgroubnd.
12. Bring back the Videos drop-down menu when watching videos so that we dont always have to go to the channel just to know what videos they have.
13.Get rid of the templates and just allow us to customize module locations the way we want to.
14.Bring back the alphabetical order of playlists, when I want to add a video into a list
15. Bring back the banners
16. give as a box or 2 with the possibility to add a HTML text, so that we could add a Twitter follow or tweet button or something simular
17. Show us the whole name of the country, not just the abbreviation of the country (insted of SI or SLO, rather show Slovenia)
18. Give us back the possibility to see all my subscribers on my channel, not just a few
19. Give us back the possibility to make our recent activity private
20. Show the whole thumbnails on playlists
21. Show the username, not the channel title on playlists

You can watch a video on a channel now
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Kckeller||11/6/11 2:45 PM|
I like it! Two thoughts though:
1) I also like the HTML5 version I was using before I tried this out. If you could combine the two, that'd be AWESOME. (Flash tends to crash my browser a lot - I'm using OSX 10.6)
2) I think it looks really nice, but be warned - as with Facebook, any cosmetic changes to wildly popular website will incur some crazy backlash.
Otherwise it's very fancy. :)
(although I'm confused why when I select the largest size video player, I can't click the actual "fullscreen" mode without making the video size smaller first)
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||108morris108||11/6/11 5:44 PM|
I do not want my playlists visible by default
at least have them somewhere at the end - and out of the way.
My channel is newsy - and showing videos most recently uploaded is what I would like
Otherwise the new layout looks interesting
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||Tonyandcal||11/6/11 8:52 PM|
Cosmic Panda has many flaws that will fundamentally change YouTube, making YouTube users’ experience significantly worse, distribution significantly harder and drastically reducing views and revenue. At its core YouTube is an active video community. This redesign takes great strides away from YouTube’s core competencies by:
- Eliminating the video player from the Channel Page
- Other damaging changes to the Channel Page
- Changes to the Video Page
- Both complicating and reducing interaction with the YouTube community
- Making a dramatic shift from an active user experience to a passive user experience.
The removal of the video player from the Channel Page is disastrous. By forcing users to click multiple times just to be able to watch a video, YouTube is effectively destroying the ease with which people are able to watch videos on YouTube, which is the foundation of the entire platform from a user’s perspective.
The move further reduces the ability for content creators to brand themselves. YouTube appears to be making a play to establish its brand as the only brand. In essence, trying to establish that all videos are YouTube’s videos, not the content creator’s.
The current state of Cosmic Panda buries or outright removes one channel’s ability to interact with fans and other channels: channel comments are buried under the “community” tab on the channel; When landing on the community tab, it’s actually just another news feed; A user has to actually select from a drop down the “comments” option to see comments; even though the comment box is at the top of the page, and people can still easily post a comment, they won’t be able to see it.
Cosmic Panda also removed the links to add another user as a friend, block them, or send a message on the Channel Page. This may be a temporary issue; however should it become permanent it would be detrimental to the community. Users interact, share videos and grow connections through these options. Without these options, there is no community.
In conclusion, the deconstruction of YouTube’s community interactions through Cosmic Panda appears to be aimed at helping YouTube become a new Hulu. Though the changes help YouTube re-establish its brand, control what users watch, appease advertisers and promote the content YouTube wants promoted, the changes also marginalize smaller content creators and will, I predict, quickly devastate their ability to grow an audience organically, most likely pushing them off the platform altogether. This could be disastrous for YouTube as content creators will spend more energy and resources developing their own platforms where they monetize better and have much more control. In addition, this will make it near impossible for new and potential break out content creators to ever be discovered.
YouTube users do not want to watch a predetermined set of content in the form of a playlist. YouTube users want to choose the content that they watch, because choice creates the thrill of discovery and the feeling of ownership of the platform. This results in massive traffic to YouTube through people sharing on other platforms and people sharing internally on YouTube. To destroy these elements is to destroy YouTube.
Suggestions For YouTube:
1.) Recognize that playlists never have been and never will be popular or widely used.
2.) Turn the playlist underneath the video player into a related video feed.
3.) Enable current, and expand, ways for viewers to interact. Google+ and other websites currently have interesting potential features that can be used as templates, such as the group viewing features.
4.) Keep channel pages simple and add sorting features for viewers.
5.) Keep a video player on the channel page.
6.) Make the video player wider by default and move it to the left margin to avoid dead space.
7.) Keep the yellow subscribe button. It is an internationally known symbol.
8.) Create a section on YouTube’s home and browse pages to curate high end and series based content for those that wish to view that type of content.
9.) Create a comment filter for each different content creator. This protects YouTube as a brand from being viewed as censors, but allows content creators greater control over their community.
10.) Make outbound links open in a separate tab. This way, viewers stay on YouTube, but are able to follow on twitter, like on facebook, etc.
11.) Allow people to blog, sell products (through google checkout) and share pictures on YouTube.
12.) Incorporate a widget that allows people to view a content creator’s social media feeds from the channel.
13.) Revamp how content is categorized or create sub categories to more accurately reflect how content is currently being created. (eg – “How To & Style” should become “Fitness”, “Cooking”, “Fashion”, “Beauty”, “How To”, “Product Reviews”, etc.)

@Tonyandcal, thank you for reposting this here. As I said in the other thread, you've expressed my own thoughts, as well as those of most everyone I know, as to the destructive impact this design will have on the Community if implemented in its current state.
Staff, please take note. Whether you're willing to admit it or not, there *is* still a Community out here, and we are not sheeple. Passively watching pre-programmed playlists is *not* why we're here. Please read and heed Tonyandcal's critique.

I played with the CosmicPanda Channel section yesterday and, as a Production Partner with multiple shows on my channel, the lack of Show integration is my biggest issues. Something even as simple as providing a list of shows and their episodes like the default playlist display would suffice.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||churroz||11/16/11 5:07 AM|
I agree with some of the points the highest rated answer brought up:
Some of the changes to the channel page are extremely inconveniencing. What I look for in a channel page is the ability to browse and view videos quickly and easily, and at the same time. With Cosmic Panda none of this is possible. Huge video icons make browsing and searching videos quite difficult (and search options are very hard to find). Also, removing the video player is a huge inconvenience, since going to a new page to watch a video doesn't allow you to browse while you watch and going back and forth between videos and channel is quite inconvenient.
As far as the video viewing page - it is quite elegant but lacks some basic features. For one - the generous spacing makes it impossible to read comments while watching a video, and the large video icons also take up alot of space. How about some more room for the video title? It is frustrating when the title gets cut off at the most important part.
Integration with playlists seems to be severely lacking - especially the watch later or on-the-fly playlist. Where do those videos go? When I add something to watch-later I can't see it anywhere. And having to scroll down to find related videos is a huge inconvenience. One of the things I absolutely love about the current layout is being able to view 5-6 (or more depending on screen resolution) related videos without having to move away from what I'm currently watching. The suggested videos button is cool - but as an additional feature, not a replacement for the very useful, more compact related video sidebar (the new one is just not practical).
Finally, HTML5 integration is poor. Although the HTML5 player was working for a while, it's now buggy again with constant lag and poor controls (there are even visual glitches). I love HTML5, flash is just too buggy! But at least make it work.

Can we please have the option in the the video player on the new channel page for it to autoplay 'the most recently uploaded video' like we had before, as at the moment there is no way to set it to do that without changing the options for the player every time you upload a new video which gets very frustrating to have to do as an extra step of promoting a video you didn't use to have to do.
Thanks - also, if you're in the HTML5 testube experiment, then the featured video box on the channels page is blank, it doesn't default back to the flash player so no video ever appears.

CP is a bit like Vimeo, they also have the huge video icons which makes it difficult to quickly browse through a lot of video.

I was recently "upgraded" on 11/19/11. I would like to honestly say it was a FORCED upgrade. I wanted no part of the upgrade. I wish to switch back to the old channel design i had before 11/19/11 With this new design, I can't see whose subscribing to me at all. Neither can I see my friends list at all. This is really annoying. I will not cancel my accoutnever because I still think youtube is a great place if they would give us a choice on channel types. If anyone is listening and can help me fix my problems I would greatly appreciate it. I'm so frustrated right now that I almost don't even want to answer all my friends messages/comments which is sad because I really like those people and want to stay friends with them.

On the vertical floating Facebook icon that sits on the left side of the page, some little half wit finally asked me why it don't change language? And I said "Because you can only say Facebook in English, Stupid!" And it said "It don't say Facebook, Stupid!! It says Feedback, Stupid!!"
......Oh... well pardon me....
So the request is - Can you make the floating vertical "Feedback" icon Red, and the loading bar for the CosmicPanda-SkunkWorks-HTML5 video player Blue? We feel that doing so would improve the overall feng shui of the Cosmic Panda.
Otherwise, no complaints :+))

In my opinion, any channel design that you had on the youtube is much better than this new one. Please, leave us the option to keep the old design.

Please add the following things to Cosmic Panda:
- The ability to change your channel's colors
- Add transparency to the channels
- Let us customize our channels to meet our needs

I have a lot of interactive videos that use annotations. Most of the videos have a small annotation on either the bottom left or bottom right of the videos. With the Cosmic Panda video player, those annotations are either almost or entirely blocked by the black video player command bar that pops up onto the video. I think when you move the mouse over videos, the command bar should pop out down under the video instead of up & over the video. The command bar shouldn't be blocking the video.
Here are two pictures that illustrate the problem:Hidden command bar: http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/8026/84125756.png
Command bar on video: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/7004/21068224.png
Instead of the command bar popping out on the video, it should pop out down under the video.
Note: this problem doesn't occur when viewing videos in fullscreen; the command bar is always under videos in fullscreen view. This problem does occur in every other aspect ratio.

If your aim was to destroy our YouTube 'community', then you have succeeded. You no longer stand out from anyone else. YouTube was unique, letting us enjoy music, personalizing our channels while communicating with others if we chose.
You say we can opt out. How?????? Just give us an opt out link!!!!
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||dibber1||11/27/11 12:00 PM|
Ok here goes. 1st off i really like the new look and feel of the homepage although there is room for improvement, such as putting the Recommended videos in a tab next to Subscriptions, thus making the page wider and shorter, people hate to keep scrolling down a page, also it needs a delete video tab like in the old style homepage interface, ok the video title shows as red once you have watched it and that's all good but a delete tab wouldn't go a miss. I like the date stamp section in the feed thou and the fact you can go back over many days in the feed, great idea. Rating of the new homepage 7 out of 10 but would get 10 out of 10 with a few tweaks. Love the new look of the video page when you instal the new homepage interface, everything is perfect, colours, functions, the lot, only one small issue thou, the flag tab needs to look more like a flag. The whole video page interface looks sweet and the colours chosen are nice on the eyes in all light settings, the video playback is the best i've seen yet and it's smooth as silk when playing a video so that gets a massive thumbs up from me. Channel pages need to some of the older functions, such as how videos were listed on the old channel layout, i cant tell you how much i hate the look and feel of having the videos in massive thumbnails instead of a scrolling playlist like in the old channel page. I do like the other mods thou like the cool tabs to link your websites and social sites such as twitter and fb, having a info section full of url's is so ugly to be honest and it gives a more professional look to the channel page. I'd much rather have channel comments on the channel itself rather than clicking here to go there then click again for this and that section, total waste of time, annoying and very time consuming, how about a simple tab on the channel page to make them visible should the person visiting want to see the comments or leave one themselves, solves all problems and still keeps the page clean looking. Also the feed default setting needs sorting, that sucks big time, people come to other peoples channels to watch their videos, not to see whats in their feed. Something else is page transparency settings, cant understand why that has been scrapped as people put a lot of time and effort into their page backgrounds and want to show them off. Next is a friends button being put back on the channel page, do you know how time consuming and annoying it is having to go to the address book to add a new friend, that is a massive thumbs down from me. I can understand why you guys have removed the friends, subscriptions and subscriber lists from the channel page, i know it's abused by trolls and their friend and subbing bots to spam people, how about a friends only button that can be clicked by people who are on your friends list and makes them visible to them, kills 2 birds with one stone and keeps everyone happy who wants those lists on their channel page somewhere. I know you guys are trying to combat all this sub for sub spamming in the comments, how about sitting someone down to work out all the word and letters variants and the ways it can be abused and block those terms in comments, also all this BS "thumbs this comment up if" myself and many others hate this practice, we now remove and block those who do it. Last but no means least. Don't try to look and be like bloody facebook and twitter, keep youtube unique and different to the rest, if i want something like facebook or twitter i'd be there instead of here. That's me done for now.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||dibber1||11/27/11 1:37 PM|
Oh and another thing and i think i speak for millions of tubers on this one. BRING BACK THE OLD VIDEO SHARE SYSTEM where we could share with everyone on our friends list in one hit, all this adding usernames is total BS as is typing [Friends] in that bar and it only going to 100 friends, that is restricting peoples potential to grow, seems pointless if a person has 1000 friends+ on their friends list and can only share with 100 which is done randomly unless they do it by adding 100 names themselves at a time, waiting an hour then send another 100 names, scrapping that system was also one of the worst things youtube ever did, more so since the subscriber feed has been screwed for so many months and never been fixed properly

I can't switch my channel page from the old to new formats at cosmic panda. The video play and comment page changes, but my channel page is stuck in the old format.

When I log into either of my channels in Chrome, my channel page is reverted back to the old format, but everything else is in the new cosmic panda layout. When I am logged out of either of my channels, the one I am logged out of appears in the new style in Chrome, but I can't edit it of course. Please return my channel pages to the new format in Chrome, so I can view and edit them to appear the way I want them to be in Chrome. I can still view and edit my channels in other browsers in the old format, so I don't mind having the new format in Google Chrome. Please, when you finalize the new format, make sure I can see every channel I am subscribed to with their channel thumbnails, and all my subscribers channels with all their thumbnails. I also want to see everybody else's subscribers and subscriptions with channel thumbnails, like it is now in the old format, but not available now in the new format.
|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||0nothing000||12/1/11 6:00 AM|
One other thing. Everybody's channels and channel pages in Chrome appear in the new format, including my channels, except for the one I am logged into. The channel page of any channel I am logged into in Chrome appears in the old format. This just started happening late 11/30/11 or early 12/1/11. Please fix this. My 2 channels are 0nothing000 and algszs.

|Re: Feedback for changes to Cosmic Panda (Channels & Watch experiment)||nosensefornonsense||12/1/11 2:25 PM|
well i tried trhe new channel layout and was dissapointed, i dont fell like i am on a channel anymore. Looks like an app that anything else + i normally have 18 people in my box and here i only see 10??? is that normal? + if i understand that partners lose the banner at the top. That really steals away the uniqueness on the channel. Whren i see a channel i want to and artform of uniqueness and not...well this. + the panels are all in preset now i have less control over my channel...where is the fun/creativity in that. It feels like im on myspace agains when i see this and we all know that myspace is dead so...yeah
and another thing the previous channel layout was easier to use this seems too complicated, it feels like work instead of pleasure if i had to visit a channel with the new layout
