|Subscriptions not showing all videos in feed||zynix976||7/1/12 2:08 PM|
I've noticed recently, that not all of the videos, that people I subscribe to, show up in my feed; even though I have checked "Only uploads".
I know other of TotalHalibut's (Totalbiscuit, The Cynical Brit) subscribers also has this problem:
Has anyone noticed this? Is it common? If so, how can I fix it?

You have to also click the unexplained, non-intuitive dropdown menu just at the right of "View," and select "Everything." It defaults to "Highlights," which YouTube uses to decide for you which of your subscriptions you "really" want to watch. Every time you go back to the page, it resets to the default, so you have to check it again.
Simpler is just to abandon the pile-o-crap front page and go straight to your My Subscriptions page here: http://www.youtube.com/my_subscriptions

I subscribe to 33 channels (including RayWilliamJohnson, Dave Days, Shane, etc, so for sure there was at least 1 new vid in past 7 days). My Main Page "Show Uploads only" feed starts with video 2 weeks old (and for me it defaults to Everything, not Highlights). My Subscription page's (to which you provided link) New Videos tab is empty ("No videos were found.").
I don't think there's client-side fix to this problem.

I also have this problem, new videos are not showing up on the main page. Changing the View option to "Everything" doesn't fix it and the new videos don't show up in the My Subscriptions >> New Videos tab either. I have to actually go to each subscription manually to find new videos.

yup, same thing here, saw it today when alot of videos suddenly were gone from my feed, the newest is three days old and i know the channels im subbed to have put out new content. Clearing cache files and logging in / out + setting it to "everything" instead of "highlights" does nothing. Someone made a bobo

TotalHalibut posted a video this morning with instructions to get around it, and strongly recommends Google Reader instead of relying on YouTub "Subscriptions".

Youtube, to avoid redundancy it seems, has made it so is doesn't display the uploading of a video if the subscription also added it to a playlist. So it just shows the adding to a playlist. This means that if you have it on "uploads only" it won't show up, because the people who run youtube don't think before they do things.
changing it from "highlights" to "everything" won't help in this case.

Yeah, it's not working for me. Google reader shows only one vid from 2 27.06.2012, and that youtube feed plugin for chrome shows 0.

Same problem here.
Doesn't change a thing if I click on "uploads only" or not.
Even if i change from "highlights" to "everything" not every video is showing up.
This issue is really annoying so pls fix this fast.
and btw dont reset back to "highlights only" everytime.
