Hi Stowed Stuff, you should be able to export the video as a file onto your desktop and then upload it that way. Let me know if that worked out for you!

so far YTBill's reply has helped me. I was having the same problem earlier. Glad I stumbled across this cause I was ready to have a meltdown lol! Thanks for the help!! Do you know if this is how I'll have to upload from now on or is this like a minor bug that is getting resolved?

Could it be an internet connection problem?

A technical explanation is that Apple needs to use YouTubes development platform to upload videos. To make sure people don't make software that spams YouTube's servers, they make a quota for how much data can be uploaded. Apple may have accidentally reached that quota, so YouTube is refusing to let you upload your video directly from iMovie. The simple solution is the same as mentioned above: export to your computer and then upload the video through the YouTube website.

I've having same problem here too??  I am able to work around by downloading file then uploading.

I'm having same problem.  Saving file to desktop and then uploading directly from youtube works, but takes longer.  Do you think they will fix this issue?  Should we put this on Apple Support forum?  Call them?  When the latest version of iMovie came out, there were problems uploading to youtube.  I called them, and it took them forever to fix it.  

just got off the phone with apple. Question went to a senior advisor. they explained that the API's Vimeo, youtube, facebook ..etc are share options provided by them and once the user name/password are confirmed the fail message is on the youtube end.  I was told that although the message says quota issues it is sometime not a quota that is exceeded. The senior advisor said that of the people whom he has spoken with, they have tried a second and third time and the problem works itself out. 
   I am trying to upload again straight from imove and so far it is working even after receiving the fail message two times before

well.... so much for that. I tried uploading a 14min video. my channel is verified, but it failed with the same message. I tried a 10minute video and it worked.  Now I just tried another 10min video and it didn't work.

  so who does this fall on?  Apple or youtube? the apple supervisor said it's on youtube's end. Is there a number to call for youtube technical support?  I'm trying the 10 minute video again but it's failed four times now. I'll try shutting down and starting up again and see what happens 

now it gave me this fail message  Publishing to YouTube Failed: The operation couldn’t be completed. (Daily Limit Exceeded)  but i've only tried to upload one ten minute video.   that ain't right?!?!?

Uploading from the desktop worked for me.  Sorry so many of you had this problem.  Do we blame YouTube (GOOGLE) or Apple or the fact that they hate each other.  One more example of bigness is badness.  Anyone interested in a class action lawsuit ?  Ha Ha.

I have tried re-uploading it several times from imovie but its still not working. I will try uploading it from my desktop though.

I had this happen several times on Saturday. They would always load 50% then fail. But when I tried again, they went through. Now I'm trying another video. It got 50% and refuses to go. Trying to download to my desktop so I can try from there. This is a pain in the @$$!

yes we able to do this, but it seems we shouldn't have to. I tried calling apple(see post below) and the advisor said just keep trying and it works itself out. I have now kept trying and it's still failing and your suggestion is working, but do you have any updates? is anyone at youtube looking into this? I can contact apple again to see if I can facilitate some action of some sort

I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM OF COURSE, I THOUGHT SOMEBODY HATED ME BUT THANKS TO GOOGLE I FOUND THIS SPOT. SO GOOD NOTE YTBILL . IF THIS ISSUE EVER GETS FIXED AND WE CAN LOAD STRAIGHT FROM IMOVIE THAT WILL BE AWESOME BUT IF I MUST UPLOAD TO MACBOOK FILES FIRST IM COOL WITH THAT . so yes that move does work .

So it happened to me AGAIN on today's upload. SO annoying. The only fix was saving it as a file to desktop first and then using YouTube upload. I don't know why this is a recurring new problem, but it looks like none of us are alone. 

Same - I'd get to 50% and then the fail message once it started to go to YouTube.

Hey Stowed Stuff! I've been having this exact same problem all day! I've tried exporting to desktop and repeatedly from iMovie (which doesn't seem to be fixing itself). So frustrating and thanks for starting this thread. Literally going out of my mind trying to figure out what in the world is going wrong!

The exact same thing is happening to me since Last Wednesday. Thankfully I found this thread. And downloading it to my Mac worked

Has anyone tried since the new OS update yesterday to version 10.11.4  Just curious if it makes a difference.  I don't have video footage right now or I would try it myself.  Can someone let us know if it works after update please?

This same thing happened to me repeatedly yesterday. I can't say how I finally got it to work but after alternating between uploading the file directly to YouTube from iMovie and trying to save a file from iMovie to my desktop, I was able to upload my video to YouTube early this morning directly from YouTube.

Worked great yesterday. Today, not so much. 

It's insane. The last time this happened, I activated the "add 15 minute or longer video" thingie (sorry, the best I can do) and it worked after I did that. Now I'm having the problem again. Grrrrr... and I can't activate something that is already activated. I think I'll deactivate, then activate again and see if that works. if all else fails, I'll save to my desktop and upload. SOMEONE AT YOUTUBE OR APPLE, GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...Stowed Stuff for asking, YTBill for answering.  This was driving me crazy, not being able to load my infrequent videos.  I thought it might be related somehow to my icloud storage, so I bought more...no joy, until I read this.

As mentioned multiple times in this thread, please export the video to your desktop and upload using the Standard YouTube Uploader.

If you remove the YouTube option from the Sharing Menu and then add it back, then it all works fine.

seriously? Does this work? Can it work for Final Cut pro x too??

As stated through out this thread, since its an Apple issue, you will need to, for now, to render out your video to an acceptable format, and then upload manually through YouTube's uploader via your browser

I have received the same (<a href="/youtube/v3/getting-started#quota">quota</a>.) message when I try to livestream.  I currently use the Elgato HD60 encoder.

I've been trying to upload a video all day.  I tried using the Final Cut share option ... 5 times and that did not work.  I tried saving it to my computer ... that did not work.  I deleted You Tube from my sharing options and re-added it and that did not work.  I've spent my entire work day on trying to load one video and it's still not working.  I need a fix ASAP!

UGH!!  I am getting the same error...have not had this problem ever and I have been uploading iMovie videos weekly for over a year.  I have tried everything from saving to file, which automatically converts the iMovie to mp4 and youtube will not accept this format.  Now I am trying another save to file to my movies and it is saying it will take over 300 minutes to upload.  Really?  HELP!!  I even called apple, and worked with a technician we did a software reset and this did not work.  Why is this happening?  What are some other options?  Is there another movie app that does work?  What can I do? There have to be some answers!  Google please help!

Ashley Pearson I have tried multiple times uploading to my desktop and it gets kicked back.  For some reason it does not like the mp4 extension but I am unable to save it any other way.  Is there another movie making software that is working that I can use from my Mac?

The Joneses3...how did you save your file to desktop?  This fix is not working for me.

ey Buzz,  How did you save your file to desktop.  For some reason youtube will not accept the file from my desktop.  It saves as an mp4 file and youtube does not seem to like it.

Tried that too .... it did not work.

I called apple support just now and they said it was on YouTube's end. I did do the export to desktop and upload to YouTube and it worked. I do like the feature to upload directly from iMovie. It wasn't working for me on both mac computers. I got the error messages that everyone else got. So I hope it get fixed either way.

Actually, as previously stated from users, Apple is actually quite wrong. Its their system, since they are the ones that need to connect to YouTube. What apple fails to communicate is that its cumulative connections from Apple users. YouTube can put limits on how many connections can be made from one particular API connection, and it seems that APPLE is using only a couple of IP's to connect from so that YOU are able to upload videos.

Well I just tried to upload from iMovie to youtube and it worked. So maybe calling did do something.

or because there aren't that many people connecting at the time you are uploading.

Anne Hess, I am running iMovie 10.1.1 and all that I did was click on the share button and click file.  It takes longer than directly uploading to youtube though, so not a great solution.

I cant share my video from Imovie to anywhere! even to my desktop! I need some help please! it starts to upload and after few minutes gives this message : error: view rendering 10008

Hi Cirene, that's an iMovie issue for sure, so it's kind of doubtful that folks here would have much insight on that. You may want to check with Apple support about what is going on with your version of iMovie. Best of luck!

Just to update, I am able to successfully upload my movies from iMovie directly to youtube now.

I understand the solution to this problem is to export to desktop, but I do not have this option.  I can only export 'to file' and then it exports as an MP4 file which is huge in size.  Where do I find the export to desktop option as it is not under 'share' in iMovie...well not on my Mac anyway! HELP!
