|Microsoft Word opens when I click on MAIL or CALENDAR icons||Bob108||5/25/12 1:33 PM|
Lately, when I click on the MAIL or CALENDAR icons on my desk top that are shortcuts to those pages in My Google, Microsoft Word opens a word document that contains some references to Google. Can't ge rid of it.

Have you checked that the desktop shortcuts include the correct links (right click the desktop icon and select Properties)?

Yep - Have triple-checked shortcuts and have replaced them. Opening IE8 directs me to my Google homepage, as it should. Clicking on the MAIL or CALENDAR tabs on the homepage opens them correctly. I have opened my mail page in this way and then dragged a shortcut from the adress bar down onto the desktop. This puts a new shortcut on the desktop, but when I click on it, Microsoft Word opens.......grrr!
