I have an iPhone 4S.  Whenever I go to www.google.com in either safari or chrome, the page instantaneously reloads and doesn't stop.  It does this for images too.  I tried clearing my browsing data and then the problem went away.  But I found that it only did this because I was signed out from my Google account.  As soon as I signed back in, the problem started right back up.  Does anyone have a solution?

A similar thing happens on my Galaxy S.  The page reloads after I have entered a few characters of my search phrase, clearing the buffer in the process.

Google, please fix.

This does not work for me. Signing out or login with different account seems to stop this with my iPhone 4. Google problem?

Same problem here but it is only google.com that constantly reloads. Other pages work fine. Sign out of your google account and it should stop reloading. As soon as you sign in it will happen again.

Android 4.0 here and same problem. Only signing out of google account solves it. All other websites are fine though, only google.com is affected. Google issue.

On my iPhone4, I use Google as my mobile search.  iPhone uses Safari to access web. When I log in to my account at (for instance...xyz@gmail.com)  it CONTINUALLY refreshes the Google search. Apple store reset entire phone and problem STILL exists.  They had me sign in to Google search on another iPhone in the store and it did the SAME THING!  Please help.  Thank You.  All their techs looked at it.  After the total reset of my phone, it still occurred.  Then, after signing in on a different iPhone in the store, that iPhone's Google search continually refreshed.  The Apple technicians concluded this is a Google bug.  It has nothing to do with Apple or the iPhone.  What can be done?

My Safari search engine was Google. After reading on this Forum, I switched to Yahoo.  Saved that.  Deleted all history, cookies, etc.  Switched Safari search engine back to Google.  Even changed my Google password on my computer wondering if I had been hacked.  After all that, signed back in to Google on the iPhone and STILL won't stop refreshing.  Happens as soon as I sign in.  CRAZY!  Gonna have to go to Yahoo or Bing for my mobile search now where I can sign in.  I HOPE Google gets this bug fixed!

Just wondering... Are you running Ice Cream Sandwich or Jellybean?

I'm experiencing the same thing on Verizon Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean with the stock browser. I only experience the issue on the Google homepage. The search result pages seem fine.
I've noticed that the problem goes away if JavaScript is disabled. I started experiencing the issue probably within the past week or so.

HTC Desire HD Android 2.3.5  I am having exactly the same problem.  It occurs both with default browser and Boat browser, both with cache and browser histories cleared...  Very frustrating as I use as my homepage.  If you manage to click on "classic" view in the millisecond it appears before the page reloads, the classic view loads and is stable.  however, there is no way to set the default page view to classic on the mobile page, so this is no help really!

I signed in on a friends phone (iphone 4) and it doesn't do it.  But it does it on my moms 4.  Strange.

Hi everyone! We're continuing to investigate this and there's a similar thread going on our mobile forum.

If possible, can you please copy and paste the URL that your browser is using and/or upload a screenshot of what you see as the page is reloading?

Thank you!

Jacqueline

I still want a personal apology from the Leader of Google. And a gift - What would Oprah do?

Thanks,

Hi Nathen -

I'm sorry! I'm kind of a leader at Google; does that count for something? :)

And as far as a gift, I give to you: Google Images.

I know this was a huge headache for many of you, and we are truly sorry. We're taking measures to prevent things like this from happening again in the future.

Best wishes,

Jacqueline
