|Site Verification with Yahoo domain and Windows Live site||Amala||3/29/12 4:43 AM|
I'm trying to get Google Apps to verify the domain, however the choices they give aren't working for me. Yahoo wont let you add a txt record and windows live wont let you a) adjust the meta tag HTML or b) upload an HTML page (or at least, it can if I format the site and use code only, which is doable, but my client wouldn't be happy about).

The DNS TXT record is added through the registrar of the domain, if there's a way to manage the DNS.
The meta tag is added through the web page editor you use, but you have to be able to edit the source code of the head section.
In Office live there's a work-around: http://solutionsforofficelive.com/googlewebmastertools.aspx
The verification file has to be uploaded to the root folder and wll only work on hosting accounts that allow you to upload there and no change the content or name in any way. Office live does not allow that.

I built my sites on Google but I'm hosted by Yahoo. I can't get any of the verification methods to work. In particular, when I add the verification meta tag to my HTML and update the code. the program says that I have added illegal tags and deletes them.
