|Modifying Old Brand Logo in Google's Knowledge Graph||Ned Poulter||4/17/13 9:08 AM|
I am writing to get some information removed from one of my Client's information that is included in the Google Knowledge Graph. When you search for Go Ape, the knowledge graph box on the right hand side is currently showing the old brand logo.
As this is their main branded search term, they are desperate to get this logo in-line with their overall branding. Can you please inform me the best way of modifying this?
Thanks in advance

There's a link under the knowledge graph for "feedback". Suggest that as a good place to start.
Also strange that the image links to a 3rd party domain - http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/theme-parks-zoos-national/go-ape-sherwood-pines/

Thanks for the response Ashley.
I have actually already used the 'feedback' section and submitted that the image is wrong numerous times.
It is a massive frustration for the client that the image link is a third party. Especially seeming as we have contacted this third party and got them to update their logo to the new logo (shown below)...
At a bit of a loss without input from Google on this issue...

Hey Ned - I've escalated to see if there's something you or I am missing, so someone else may chime in.
Can you give me some sort of timeline as a frame of reference?

Hi Ashley, thank you very much.
In terms of timings, we've have been aware of this issue for over 4 months, so (obviously) ASAP would be the deadline to remedy the issue. But, realistically, it would be brilliant to see a change to this within the next 2 weeks.

Thanks Ned - I was asking about timeline of your actions - not a timeline of when you want to see it fixed. :)
I'm not a Google employee and can't actually institute change - but in the case that this is an outlier dates help the actual engineers to help troubleshoot.

Thanks Ashley, apologies for the confusion.
Timeline of actions looks like this:
Thanks for the contribution Ashley!

Thanks, QuirkyNed & Ashley, I'll forward this to the team. I don't know how long it generally takes for these elements to update, but it's good to have a timeline of the changes that you made there.

Thanks for responding so promptly. I can completely understand that there is normally a delay when updating these results, but sure that you can understand my clients frustration after 4 months and not seeing a change.
I sincerely appreciate you forwarding this to the client.

Great news is that yesterday the search results changed to remove the old brand logo for my client (see below). Thank you for your help with this.
Checking today however I've noticed that the brand logo for one of their products from their US business (different from their UK business logo) is now showing, please see below:
It appears that this is being pulled through from this site: http://adguys.com/pulse/?page_id=12
For reference the UK Go Ape logo (correct logo) is (taken from here):
The US Go Ape 'Tree Top Adventure' Logo (incorrect logo) is (taken from here):

Any chance that you have been able to look into this? The logo is still appearing incorrectly in Google results pages as part of knowledge graph, the correct logo is as follows:
It would be great to get an indication on timing of when this can be changed?
Many thanks in advance.

In the meantime, we've added support for you to mark up your preferred logo on your website, so that this kind of issue is a bit easier to resolve. You can find the details at http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2013/05/using-schemaorg-markup-for-organization.html
Keep in mind that it can take some time for our algorithms to update the information that has been collected over time, so this would not result in an immediate change. That said, this is the best way to let us know about your preferred logo, so I'd give it a shot.

Thank you for your response. I have submitted a request to implement the organisation logo Schema with my client.
Thank you again for all your help.

In a nut shell if the code is placed on the logo for the homepage that is it for small sites and across all pages if its a CMS where the header is holding the logo code?

I hope you are well. We are experiencing the same issue and it has been months. No one seems to help us. Our University's logo (St. Thomas University in Miami, FL) is very important to us and it needs to be updated on the Google results (knowledge graph) to the right. Here is a screen shot of our knowledge graph:
That thumbnail does take you to the page with our correct logo but this also needs to be updated. We have reported this wrong so many times and nothing happens. We have worked with wikipedia since March and everything points to Google. Can you please help us? We are in dire need to get this updated as soon as possible.
Thank you so much!
