|Google webmaster tools not recognizing .emp.br subdomains||hall_jason||5/4/12 7:43 AM|
I have read the FAQs and checked for similar issues:
My site's URL (web address) is: "example.emp.br"
I am trying to use the "Change of Address" feature within Google Webmaster Tools to move my domain from "example.emp.br" to "anotherurl.com.br". The Webmaster Tools is not recognizing that the .emp.br is actually a valid subdomain in Brazil and gives me a notice indicating "Restricted to root level domains only". So in this case example.emp.br IS the root level domain. Can you please adjust the Webmaster tools to recognize this relatively new .emp.br subdomain?? (created approximately 2 years ago by registro.br)
Note that we will still do a 301 redirect of every page to indicate that example.emp.br is now pointing to anotherurl.com.br, but I've read it's also wise to specifically set that change of address in Webmaster Tools. Please help!

Not directly answering your question, but - the change of address is not critical, if you dont do it then the domain should shift over fine anyway.
