|Googlebot Crawling From US Instead Of UK?||olmits7a||11/2/11 10:05 PM|
In Google Webmaster Tools, I setup my website's Geographic Target to be the United Kingdom; however, when I see Googlebot crawling my website I see that it is coming from a Googlebot US IP address.
Is there a Googlebot UK IP address that crawls website the same as the one I'm currently seeing on my website? Or does Google use the same Googlebot for all different Google country locations?
If there is a specific Googlebot UK IP address that crawls websites; how can I have this bot crawl my website instead of the US Googlebot?

Googlebot currently comes only from US-based servers (although Google warns that this might not always remain the case). Geo-location gets assigned based on your website's characteristics and your settings in Webmaster Tools. You can search on "geo-location google" for more information. Good luck!

Ok, so if all Google countries get crawled by Googlebot from US-based servers; will my items still show up properly when a user does a Google UK search?

As RainboRick says, the bots presently all come from the US. There won't be any problem about your content showing up in the relevant country.
