Do you already have Google Voice (Y/N)? Yes
If so, do you have a Google number (Y/N)? Yes

Post your question or report below (please include specific details and error messages, if applicable):

I just got a new droid 2 and I downloaded the google voice app. When I go to sign in it says "There was a network error while trying to sign into (my email address). retry now or press the back button to cancel." That is as far as I get, it won't let me sign in at all. Please advise on what to do.

Are you in the lower 48 states and can you see the Inbox at https://www.google.com/voice?pli=1#inbox

If not, you need to sign up for Google Voice at www.google.com/voice

I live in Oregon and have a google voice account. I was accually one of the first "test" subjects before it lauched publicly. I had it on my other Droid phone before I got the new one. I was just tired of using it so I never put the app on my new phone. I wanted to start using it again but now won't work on my phone. It shows my account email address and to click next. When I do it just sits there and then gives me an error "There was a network error while trying to sign into (my email address). retry now or press the back button to cancel."

Drill down http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=184644 till you can click on Contact Us and report your issue since there is no Google Troubleshooter to address your issue.

For issues related to the error message: "There was a network error while trying to sign into (email address). Retry now or press the back button to cancel" try the following:
  1. Check to see that you have a good connection to your network. If you don't have a good connection, try again when you've found a better connection.
  2. Make sure that you're using the app in the US.
  3. Restart your Device and then try again.
