|Unable to add 'conversion code' to google sites 2!||Real India Property||9/25/09 3:08 AM|
It is really nice of you to take notice of my 'un-described-administrative-issue'.
I am running a site: http://www.realindiaproperty.co.in on google apps. I have found sites to be very interesting and very useful. Google sites has evolved a lot since take over from jotbot. There is, However, One issue which i find very much missing.
While using google analytics and webmaster tools, we can monitor the navigation of the visitors to the site. We can see which pages have been viewed most and which pages have been the landing pages. We can see if the important pages have been viewed or if the visitors have completed a perticular task on the site. We can see For this we have to add a '.js' code to the html of the webpage. There is no facility to add this on sites and when we do it in the html of the pages it is not accepted.
I hope this important feature will soon become a reality so that Professoinal sites can get indepth analysis of their web initiatives.
We already have a conversion university in analytics, a blog, and so many discussions dedicated to conversion. Alas, but no place to add the 'conversion code' as yet.
PS: I am using chrome and i am unable to edit, answer, interact with any of the google forums. I have just now revived my internet explorer to provide these details. When i write something in th reply box and press submit, it says 'Please give an answer'

What specifically is the question?
'Conversion code' is not descriptive enough to go on.

"For this we have to add a '.js' code to the html of the webpage."
No, you don't. Look at the following references to see how to add Google Webmaster Tools & Google Analytics to your Google Site.

Google adwords requires me to add this code to the final target:
Add the tracking code to every page where a user reaches the action. Insertion Tips
Conversion in analytics can be funnelled and tracked within the same domain, tracking conversions across sub-domains, still remains an issue. Webmaster tools also talk about the best landing pages.

I too have the same issue. Whilst i am an amateur I have set up a site that works and use google checkout, adwords anayltics etc reasonably well. I now need to track my adword conversions and cannot for the life of me work out how as I cannot add it to my pages.
I can generate the code but can't add it onto the relevent pages of my google site. If anyone can help me please get in touch,
Please google if anyone is out there make some of this stuff easier or at least give us a clue in the help guide. There is no reference anywhere how to link adword conversion tracking code to work out my eccommerce figures into a google site..

I'm also waiting for this. Any advances? Maybe Google could allow to run their own js hosted in their own repositories?

Is there any update here? Two years have passed, and I still cannot figure out how to include the conversions code....
I have tried creating a widget with the code and including this in the website, but this did not solve the problem.
Maybe there is a problem with my widget, see http://hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/110419737404250830386/tracking_conversion.xml
And it is included here: http://www.bdeal.eu/nacalo (the tiny white square in bottom right).
