Our mail server routes everything through Postini. There is one specific domain that when we try to email a user on that domain, we get the error below. If we try from any other service (yahoo, gmail, etc), it works just fine. This problem domain uses an email forwarding service hosted by GoDaddy.

So I'm at a loss as to why this happening only from Postini. All I can think of is that Postini's internal DNS is not updating or misconfigured. Any ideas?

I'm using a Microsoft Exchange 2007 server with Postini private outbound DNS. The DNS server used is 188.8.131.52.
The domain which is having issues being relayed to very recently had its name servers changed, and then changed back. Before the change, we could relay email to it with no problem. After the change, it's as if Postini has not received the DNS propagation. However, when I nslookup on the Google public DNS (184.108.40.206) I can see that Google in general has the correct DNS records.
I should point out again that I am able to send email to this domain from any other email service, including Gmail, Yahoo, MSN, etc. Only mail relayed through Postini to this particular domain bounces back with the aforementioned error. To me, all signs point to misconfigured DNS on Postini's side.
What do you think Frank?

What do your own server logs show for this domain? If there is an issue with Postini, only support can correct it.

Our server shows the connection to outbounds5.obsmtp.com and the failed 550 status response from said server. It is recorded as a FAIL eventid in the logs. Do you also think this is a Postini issue?
We purchased our Postini through a reseller - is there any way to open a case directly with Postini or should I go through the reseller?

You should report this to your reseller, as they are your first tier of support and can open a direct case for you. It's possible there is an issue with Postini and a flush of this domains DNS errors may be needed. As documented in the help article, this DNS error is a shared event for all Postini accounts who use outbound relay.

Thanks for your help Frank. I contacted the reseller and they said they will open a case with Postini to flush our outbound DNS.
I also believe this will resolve our issues. Hope this helps someone else, as I wasn't able to find this answer anywhere on the web.

Just wanted to confirm that having Postini flush the outbound DNS resolved this issue :)
