|Google Play Services: "Error: Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID"||Ian Ord||7/30/13 11:34 PM|
I have encountered an error trying to install Google Play Services on my phone. I get the error message "Error: Incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID".
I have read many forums both internally on Google and externally, and it seems to be a very common issue with no solution present. I noticed that nearly 50% of the reviews for Google Play services have encountered the same issue on the Google Play Store.
It appears that certain apps cannot function without Google Play services (Google+, Google Hangouts, Foursquare, Youtube, etc). I have checked that my phone is compatible (Samsung GT-i9220), and that my operating system is compatible (Version 4.0.6). I have tried clearing the cache and data for Google Play Store. I have uninstalled all apps which require the Google Play Services. I have removed my Google account information and re-added it. I have tried restarting the phone. Nothing seems to be fixing the issue.
If you know of a solution, please list the specific steps to resolve it in your answer below. Thank you very much for your time in this issue! I look forward to being able to use my Google apps again.
