|Still working on getting my product ads approved||buystripes||5/21/12 5:44 PM|
Please review my newest feed. What do think? It anything wrong? Suggestions? I have changed my feed at least 50 times with no real answer why all of my product ads remain disapproved. I am determined to figure out why all my ads are disapproved,

are there any copyrights or trademarks associated with the data, images, or products?
is there any borrowed content being submitted?
has someone at google indicated they have removed the disapproval block?

No copyrights or trademarks. I contracted with a vendor in Asia to make my products to my specifications. The products are unique to me only, and without any trademark protection, as I have not trademark them. These are all pretty much maritime and pilot insignia that has generally been in use for over 100 years. All copy, or print was written by me. All pictures are mine taken by me with my camera. Nothing is borrowed or lifted from anywhere. All 12 of my products were block for violating Google Adwords policies, and when Google Merchant Center's support explain the reason for the block they cite the trademark/copywrite and prohibited products rule (drugs/fireworks/etc). When I contacted a supervisor at Google Adwords, who has looked at my ads and sees no violations. She discussed the matter with Merchant Center support and they informed her Merchant Marines in my feed might be construed as weapons because of Marines... well thats a stretch, but I removed all reference to Marines; and I suspect all will still be rejected for an unknown reason. My issue, is tech support wont be specific. I think this is merely a computer making some sort of decision with support people having no power to make a common sense decision. My opinion of course, but when a couple pieces of cloth with insignia in use for over a century are prohibited something is wrong. Nobody at Google has indicated anything other than to supply me with a rule. They wont be specific as to what exactly is wrong. I am pretty certain they have no idea why they are rejected, and are merely driven by blindly backing up a computer, even to the point of nonsence. SAD INDEED! You checked out my feed, what is trademarked or a prohibited product. Check out my website and its products at www.buystripes.com. What is really revealing here as to what is happening, is when after almost 3 weeks Google Merchant Center support will no cite any specific as to why my products are rejected. That a BIG TELL to me that they have no idea. No human has an idea, and thats a very sad business model in my opinion. Your a guide for Google tell me why? Your human so I suspect you, like Google Merchant Center support wont be able to. I prefer to think that as a customer, I should have some right to get a specific reason, otherwise I can come to no other conclusion but to be critical of the quality of support being offered. I am thankful, that this is NOT how other companies choose to operate.

I resubmitted my feed, took out the "Product Ads" checkbox in its settings, and am still disapproved.
I'm contacting Google (I hate that I can't even write anything to them, it gives me radio buttons to choose instead) to see if they can approve it back, but I'm sure I'm going to get the same automated answer of Trademark Violation Policy.
I'll write an update to see if removing that "Product Ads" checkbox even works.

jsharone, is the disapproval for product-ads or product-search?
product-search disapproval would not be effected by any product-ads settings.

As far as I can tell, disapproval is for product-ads.
Quoting Google "Some of your items may violate Google AdWords trademark policies and will not be displayed as Product Ads (but may still be eligible for other destinations). If you want these items to display as Product Ads, please edit them to no longer violate AdWords trademark policies."
Question: If Product Search was actually working, shouldn't I still be on Google Shopping? Or is that just for Product Ads? If so, where would I be find for Product Search?
This morning I received an email from Google:
"Our specialists have reviewed your Google Merchan Center account and noticed that it doesn't comply with our program policies. Therefore, we've disabled your Google Merchant Center account. Please visit...."
I took myself off Product Ads for that purpose, and they still won't approve me, considering Product Ads is off.
They apparently want me to remove all words they consider trademarked, even though they are as generic as the word Confetti (which I can't believe someone would trademark the word Confetti and Google would be ok with it)
If I remove these words they have a problem with, will I be reinstated into Google Shopping?

(1) yes, if product-search were working and
all items, supply-chains, and the website met
all google-products rules and policies then,
items should show within google-shopping.
(2) the products-ads disapproval would only impact paid adwords ads.
(3) google's "account" program policies email would usually
apply to everything associated with the registered website
under the account -- product-ads, product-search, and the api.
only someone at google can remove such an encompassing policy disapproval block.
also, no two disapproval issues are necessarily alike --
there are far two many specific details that can differ;
it would likely be best to please post in a thread of your own.

Try emailing for help to
and perhaps use the "other" button as your reason. This link will bring up the full form. They have been helpful to us, You initially get a personal reply - we discovered/were informed that our account had been disabled but I'm still trying to find out why. Something to do with program poicies.

Well, third automated email I received from Google rejecting my feed. They will not reinstate my feed until I fix the Trademark Violation Policy even though I unchecked "Product Ads" from my feed. So I'm still being dissapproved for my feed for "Product Search".
Extremely frustrating that unless you pay for Adwords, or you are a marketing company, Google customer service could care less and just send you an automated message dissapproving the feed.
I was having problems with Bing Shopping, and I emailed them, received an email from an actual person explaining and helping me step by step on how to fix things, sure they used a fake customer service name, lol, but at least I was writing to an ACTUAL person, who took the time to write back and talk to me. My feed got accepted at Bing, with no problems.
I'm sure if this continues with Google, eventually merchants will move to Bing, and Google will only be left with Amazon as their merchant.

the above sounds like an issue with product-search --
in addition to and separate from any product-ads issue
related to trademark.
