|Products show searchable in my account but no products display and company doesn't display on live google shopping||RallyJeff||5/26/12 8:08 AM|
My real question is: How can I contact the google base feed team directly? I've done it before but can't remember how to do it.
Essentially, in my account everything looks good-to-go and shows searchable across the board. Yet on live google product search, no products display using keywords, the company doesn't even show when I search the company and the company doesn't show up on the list of companies. I'm a fairly intermediate user so I've trouble-shot everything I've done in the past and nothing works. The feed is not working correctly even though the google admin says it is.
How do I contact them directly?

You can use the link above to contact them, however, if your items in your dashboard are showing as searchable then I would suggest you validate the activity of your items by using an accountID search - http://support.google.com/merchants/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=188488
If they show using this, then you could need to look at the quality of your feed if you are not returning on the search results you are targeting.

I am currently experiencing the same issue...very frustrating...just wondering if you got any response from that contact page, how long it took if you did, whether they were able to resolve the issue, and what the actual problem was? Thanks in advance for any help!

From Google and they seem to be correct. I believe that "uni-sex" (rather than unisex) triggered it. Here's what they told me:
It appears that
items in your account are being blocked by SafeSearch. Google Product
Search uses technology similar to that employed on Google.com to
automatically determine the relevance of an item to each query. This may
include removing items deemed adult in nature from our results when
SafeSearch is enabled.
To turn off SafeSearch and view all of your products, visit the Google
Product Search homepage at http://www.google.com/products and click
'Preferences' next to the search box.
Additionally, make sure cookies are enabled on your browser before
selecting your preferred level of restriction. Product Search will save
With SafeSearch turned off, visit
If you feel that your item has been incorrectly categorized as adult, we
recommend removing any mature language or content from your item. However,
as our results aren't biased by human intervention, we're unable to
provide guidelines for making specific items appear when SafeSearch isenabled.

I checked using both Firefox and Chrome, and at http://www.google.com/products there is no preferences link next to the search box from where I sit..???

OK I found a different way to turn off safe search, and then my products began to appear for me. Problem is if safe search being on is the default, that means nobody else can see any of the listings. I am selling childrens toys and costumes, nothing adult related about it, no inappropriate terminology that I see, aimed at female audience, no mention of word "sex" or anything that seems inappropriate....and if Google cannot offer tips on what is causing the adult categorization, and I cannot figure it out, well then what???

Ugggg I am retarded....in my Merchant Center, under Settings, General, I somehow had the checkbox labeled This site contains adult products as defined by our policy. Learn more
checked....so maybe that was my problem, although when I searched again with SafeSearch back on, my items still didn't appear, so maybe that was not the problem, unless it just takes time for that update to work its way through the system or something...???

OK last post...so RallyJeff, sure, your stuff shows up now with SafeSearch off, but unfortunately nobody has that setting except for people who want adult stuff, which is not either of our customers....so when I looked at http://www.google.com/products?authorid=10154254 with safesearch on like everybody else in the world, your stuff is still not appearing....so what next?
