Previous versions of MyTracks on Android 2.2, 2.3 and 4.0 all worked reliably. v.2.0 on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is a major disappointment.

The GPS fails to fix well over 50% of the time and therefore fails to report one's activity. The message is always (approx., by memory) "Waiting for a better GPS fix. Make sure sky is visible." This message appears even when I am walking in open parkland with the phone cradled flat in my hand and facing upwards.

To judge from comments on the Play Store, other apps with a function similar to "My Tracks" are reporting similar problems within the last month, especially with new phones running ICS or JB.

I wonder if there is some problem with the integration of geolocation with certain apps. There appears to be no hardware problems, least of all with the GPS: other location aware apps like Maps, Navigation and weather apps all work without a hitch.
