| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Michael98221 | 26/04/16 15:26 | Here are the instructions for x64. You can sub the x32 lsb equivalents for installing x32. |
| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Alchemist251 | 26/04/16 19:23 | Hi Michael, I can't get that to work for 64-bit GE. The first two links are OK but lsb-core won't install. I have Ubuntu 16.04 running in a VirtualBox VM. |
| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Michael98221 | 26/04/16 20:41 | Did you run sudo apt-get install -f This fixes dependency issues, and must be run for Google Earth to install correctly. I have not tried the work-around with a VM, but there's no reason I can think of why it would not work. |
| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Michael98221 | 26/04/16 20:47 | Note: There will be errors when installing the 3 packages, but sudo apt-get install -f will fix the problems. Follow the instructions step-by-step, and you should be good |
| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Alchemist251 | 26/04/16 20:55 | It kicked out lsb-core when I ran sudo dpkg -i lsb-core_4.1+Debian13+nmu1_amd64.deb so there was nothing to force. I'm sorry, I didn't copy the terminal output. |
| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Michael98221 | 26/04/16 21:04 | Hmmm, no problems here with a fresh install. Try to install the package again, there will be errors. Then run sudo apt-get install -f to make everything right. |

| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | user765 | 28/06/16 11:32 | Thanks Alchemist251. This seems to be the only way to get Google Earth working on 16.04. All others options would install but make it crash after few seconds |

| Re: Google Earth wont install on Ubuntu 16.04 | Grogorio | 30/07/16 20:31 | Alchemist251's version worked for me as well. So disappointing and perplexing that Google can't publish a working version. They take so much from Linux (looking at you Android) but give very little back (how about a working Drive client at least?). |
