|Time limit for storing offline maps||Pradroid||9/24/12 11:08 PM|
Is there a time limit to how long I can store my offline maps on my GS3? I remember reading somewhere that it is 30 days after which all my offline data will be deleted automatically, but reading here on actual google maps pages doesnt seem to support this.
Anybody know the official position?

I do not think that there is a time limit any more now that offline maps has been incorporated directly on the Maps app.
The 30 days limit that you mentioned refers to the previous Labs version of offline maps that was an add-on to the Maps app.
I will try to get a more definitive statement from a Google employee because I also doi not find any specifics regarding this issue anywhere in the documentation.

I don't think there is either, but I'll double check.

I downloaded two offline maps on September 20, 2012. Last night on Oct 4, they were listed in my offline list but the data was blank, the map was completely blank. Today, when i go back to "show offline list" they are completely gone.
What gives? This has happened multiple times since offline maps was incorporated to the main program, but it also happened with the Labs version.

Hi Pradroid and EvilHomer,
Wanted to confirm that offline maps do not have a time limit, and should only be removed when you delete them. EvilHomer, what device/OS/Google Maps version are you using? Is this occurring for all of your maps, or just certain ones (e.g. from a certain region)?
