|Google Maps update for 10 countries and regions in Europe||Daniel (Google Community Manager)||12/5/12 6:23 PM|
Hello Google Maps community,
We’re excited to announce that we’ve recently released updated maps for 10 countries and regions in Europe:
Today’s update is part of a project called Ground Truth that began in 2008. Through this initiative, we source high-quality map data from authoritative partners around the world and then apply a mix of advanced algorithms, supplemental data (including satellite, aerial and Street View imagery), and human input to create a map that corresponds as closely as possible to the real-world facts that you’d find if you were to visit that location.
Of course, the world is always changing, and we want Google Maps to change with it. So when you notice something on the map that needs updating, let us know through the simple “Report a problem” tool in the lower right corner of the map. We’ll make the appropriate changes to the map—often within just a few minutes or hours of reviewing and verifying your feedback! This tool launches today in the 10 places where we’ve updated our maps, and is already available in dozens of other countries around the world.

When I use directions or navigation, the voice guidance feature not working for my country -Malaysia. Why hasn't this been resolved for so long. It's available on the iPhone5 in Malaysia. I thought Google was supporting android more than iPhones! When an address is wrong and I tap and hold on the map, the report a problem pop up doesn't appear. Also when I want to correct an error on road no or address name, there are no options to do so. I am using the Galaxy SIII on Jellybean. Please rectify this. Thanks

What sort of stupid answer is that?
I am asking why the app cannot be downloaded in my country - something that is under the control of the app developer (Google) and you come back with such a stupid answer?

Thank you for your reply.
There are Google maps of Cyprus - they were in the old iOS program before iOS6 came out.
How can we not access them now? A friend from Holland was her this week and he downloaded the Google Maps app - you could see Cyprus with it.
Sorry for being off the original topic, but I am frustrated that I cannot contact the Maps department of Google

nobody can contact Google for such things.
For such questions they provide that forum.
And this forum told you the facts:
Actually there is no option downloading the application in Cyprus.
Your friend might have installed his App in Netherlands - fine so far.
I as a German and having installed the app in Germany can see with my Mobile also the map of Cyprus.
Do you understand now the difference?
Installing the GMaps App isn't yet possible from the iTunes store available in Cypros but with an installed App anybody can get Cypros - thats all I can say and its the truth.
