how do you remove "my location" dv8tion 5/16/12 4:59 AM

It used to be possible to remove this on a semi-perm basis, but now it appears any time I am logged in, Google assumes my directions are from wherever  I am rather from where I want point A to be. This may seem like a minor step, but it is annoying having to do it every single time. Doubly so if someone is looking over my shoulder.

You can remove it permanently in Firefox

  1. Type about:config in Firefox's address box.
  2. Accept the warning message.
  3. Search in the config page for the term geo.
  4. Double click on the preference name geo.enabled to switch its value from true to false and you are done.
