Map markers display when using KML layer but not when embedded in custom map Tony the TechCom 5/1/12 12:31 PM

I have plotted data imported from a KML file into a Google map. The markers appear in Firefox (v12) but not in IE7 or Chrome(?).

However, when load KML link provided by the map creator, the markers all appear in IE and Chrome.

The map we want doesn't work in IE7 and Chrome:

Works but messy:

I know that Google dropped support for substandard browsers like IE7, and I agree with that. However, why does the overlay method work, but not the custom map? And why does this not work in Chrome either?

I've searched the forums and found two similar messages about missing map markers, and map marker limits, that have not been answered yet.

Thanks,

-Tony
