Google Grants has been approved but no adwords credit WuyeeAdmin 1/26/12 11:19 AM
Hello,

Our organization has been approved for google grants but after I have tried to setup a campaign - I get an error saying I need to enter in billing information.  Is it possible to contact anyone on this?  I looks like our account is stuck in limbo where we are approved for google grants but credit has not been applied in adwords.

Hi WuyeeAdmin,
Congrats on the grant!

Once the AdWords account has been reviewed and approved by the Grants team (you will get a welcome email) it may still take a few days for the red billing prompt to disappear. Rest assured, it will disappear. This is just something that has to be removed manually by the billing team so it occasionally takes a few days to be processed.

Also, once the grant team has approved your account, they will set all of the campaigns in paused mode, and you will have to enable them before they go live. They do this so the account is not live and sending traffic to your website without you being aware of and prepared for it.

All the best,
Robert

Hey Robert,

Its been well over 3 months and I still have the red billing prompt.  I've seen that it should only take a few days but its been well over that time.  Would it be possible for someone to take a look at the account to make sure it has been approved or in the process of being approved?

Are you a US-based nonprofit? If so, can you log into your G4NP account and tell me what it says next to the Google Grants product?

Yes, we're a US nonprofit based in SF.  What do you mean log into G4NP?  Do you mean our domain control panel?  If you're talking about something else can you send me a link?

G4NP is short for Google for Nonprofits. All US-based organizations are required to be enrolled int he Google for Nonprofits program before being able to enroll in the individual products such as Google Grants. If your organization was approved for Google Grants over 6 months ago, (prior to the Google for Nonprofits program) but never activated your Grants account, then you will need to go ahead and enroll in the Google for Nonprofits program first, then once approved, submit your AdWords account for review and activation into the Grants product.

If you have not already done so, you can apply to the G4NP here: http://www.google.com/nonprofits/ Don't worry, the approval process is much faster under the new program.

Hello, I submitted the Contact Us Form about a week ago but still no reply or update on the account.  How long typically does this take?

Is there any way to get a status update on our situation?  We've filled out the contact us form multiple times but still have not received any response.  Have we fallen through the cracks?  Can one of you guys check on our situation please?!

Thanks for the reply.  I understand we have to use an the old account to use adwords.  (before we migrated to google apps - xyz@gmail.com).  We set this up before we migrated to google apps gmail.  Now that we are on google apps we are trying to consolidate accounts/services we used before the migration.  Is there anyway to associate the working adwords account with one of our google apps addresses (xyz@wuyee.org)?

Hi WuyeeAdmin,
This is actually quite simple. Just log into your Google AdWords account, go to the 'Access' tab, then go through the steps to invite and set up the new account as an administrator.

You can find the full steps outlined in this help article: http://support.google.com/grants/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=98862

All the best,
Robert
