How can I stop the messages from Google+ team "Top 3 posts for you on Google+ this week"??? Mike Galvez 5/2/12 8:00 AM
I didn't like the junk that was being forced into my Google+ stream such as "Top Posts" or the direction Google was heading with their privacy policy, so I deleted my Google+ profile. Even after deleting my profile, the part I hated the most continues, and there doesn't appear to be a way to stop it.

I no longer have a Google+ account, so I can't uncheck those boxes.

So, have you deleted your Google+ account? Use "Unsubscribe" link at bottom of the the email.

I have this same problem and it's very annoying. There is no "Unsubscribe" link in these emails and the account is no longer active. I don't recall ever using that email address in the first place. It must have been a secondary email address or something. It was a Google account (which I no longer have) and the emails come to my Yahoo account. I did manage to get an unsubscribe email to them and they replied by telling me that there was no account associated with my email address. I am still getting emails from them and the only thing I have been able to do is just mark them as spam.

I am having the same problem and it's not that it's showing up in my email as spam, but it's on my google+ homepage.  I don't care about the trending topics on Google+ or people I might know.  I really would like to see these things removed from my page.  I followed your advice and unchecked all the boxes you advised Mike about and it didn't fix the issue.  Is there a way to get rid of the trending topics in my news feed or do I just have to deal with it until you guys work that out with another update?  I honestly could care less about most celebs; if I did, I'd be on Twitter.

I never get these type of emails on my Gmail account as I already have unchecked the options from Google+ settings page(see my first post). If you still are receiving emails, I would advise you to create a filter for these messages or use "Mark as spam" option.

Google is driving me nuts! All I wanted was a simple GMail address, and I was forced to submit information I didn't want to in order to complete the request, including my primary email address and my cell phone number! As far as I can see, I've turned off all the junk I don't want, but I keep getting email messages from the Google+ Team about Top 3 Posts. Of course, there's no easy way to unsubscribe or otherwise make it stop. I can't see any way to get into my Google account to turn this stuff off without being forced to agree to OTHER stuff I don't want. I'm at the point that I may just have to delete my GMail account completely and stay away from Google altogether.

By the way, I can't even read the screen shots posted in this forum because they're so small.

HELP!

If you delete your account, just make sure you have no other email addresses associated with it. I deleted my old GMail account but I get emails from the "Google+ Team" at my Yahoo email address. They keep telling me there is no account associated with that address and they can't stop the emails. Ridiculous.

This is ridiculous. I thought I was the only one having this problem, but it seems it's the behavior that they planned to us.

In other words, Google is spamming our (ironically) Gmail inbox. How nonsense is that? Google's public image is just getting dirtier with that.

After un-checking every single box in the Google+ email subscription options, I was still receiving the "Top 3 posts for you on Google+ this week" email.

I went back in to my settings to make I was not subscribed to any emails. Sure enough, no unchecked boxes, but I was still receiving the email.

Maybe I should just give it some time, I thought. I waited three weeks. Still receiving the email every week.

So I deleted my Google+ account.

And I am STILL receiving this email.

For the love of sanity, could someone please remove me from this list?

I was having the same problem until I noticed that that the email was being forwarded from another Gmail account I had set up and changed the preferences on the corresponding Google+ page. Hopefully this will stop the annoying emails.

I am having this problem too.  The link to "stop receiving these updates" takes me to a Google+ sign up page.  No thank you.

I think I know what the problem with most of you is. I had the same thing. Check which email address the mails are sent to. I had another address which was forwarded to this inbox, and that second address had a G+ account. I deleted that G+ account and everything was fixed.
