|Duplicate incoming Gmail messages in Windows Live Mail||Bigskytroutbum||2/9/10 1:41 AM|
Explain your issue in full detail here
All my incoming Gmail messages are showing up twice, several seconds apart, in "Unread Mail" (just once in the Gmail inbox).
I have both POP (for all mail) and IMAP enabled in my Gmail settings. I've tried all possible combinations of the various options to no avail. I also tried tweaking a couple of setting within Windows Live Mail with no luck. I configured WLM according to the instructions on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab in Gmail settings. Nope.
I see that other people seem to be having very similar problems with WLM and none of the fixes I've seen in replies to their posts have worked for me, although I may of course have missed some.
Is there a fix for this, or is it just something I'll have to put up with if I want to continue running WLM? I have several other email accounts and am otherwise happy with WLM.

WLM is probably reporting the Inbox an All Mail "copies". You can unsubscribe All Mail in WLM, or set it to skip the folder during synchronisation. Or, you can use the Advanced IMAP Controls lab to hide All Mail from IMAP completely.

Thanks for the reply. I accidentally solved this by deleting two of the six accounts I was running on WLM (????!!!).
If anyone has any ideas about why that would work, I'd love to hear them. Pretty mysterious.

Found a solution that worked for me.
When in the live mail program as you look at the folders under your email account you will see an inbox on top. Under the inbox is a folder named Gmail, this folder expands to show "all mail" which is all emails in your box under one folder. Live mail when showing "unread emails" displays the inbox and the "all mail" folder at the same time. This creates the duplicates shown in the unread messages tab. To fix this click on the gmail folder and right click on the "all mail" folder and select Hide this folder....... That's it.
Once this is hidden live mail will no longer show duplicates of new emails.
Hope this makes sense.
Write a reply if it doesn't.
