If you are using Gmail for your email, it may be better to ask this in the Gmail forum, where somebody is more likely to know the answer:

There is no way to recall a mail already having been sent.
Once sent off to recipient(s) - it's out of your jurisdiction.
You can either:
A: Sent another mail, saying to delete the previous one without reading it.
B: Call the recipient(s) and tell them to delete the mail received.

BTW: If you go into GMail Settings, the "Labs" tab - you mat find one useful for future use.

Google strives to make the world's information useful. Mail you send over the weekend late at night may be useful but you may regret it the next morning. Solve some simple math problems and you're good to go. Otherwise, get a good night's sleep and try again in the morning. After enabling this feature, you can adjust the schedule in the "General" settings page.

If a email tracking system is used eg 'point to point' it can delete a sent email.  When downloading for free you get a trial period bfore expecting to buy it. There are other programs like this to try for free.

In reply to the above msg the correct email tracking system is called 'pointofmail.com'
Sorry about the previous msg. Pointofmail has many features including disintergrating an email after 10 seconds &  recalling a sent email etc.

@hellyg3: You're not talking about general email via SMTP over the Internet.
FYI: GMail's receiving mailserver wont even honour a receipt requests (spammers would probably love if they did honour that)
