The overlay that you posted, spacecowboy, did not have a good alignment between the location of the "Antares Descent Stage" lander in the NASA LRO image, and the "Apollo 14" icon from the GMoon "Apollo Missions" layer. It was off by about 65 meters to the SE in an image with a resolution of about a meter or less. So I re-worked the LRO image to align the two (you'd think they'd have a common location). But the result was poor alignment with the background craters. So I re-worked the LRO image to match the background craters, as well as I could.

It's always a tedious, difficult, and usually unsatisfying job to try to match and align two different images of the same location, because the angles and distances between the satellites which took both images are different, the solar illumination is different, even the area covered is different. So there is usually a balance of "close enough" stretching and moving and rotating to get the two images to align. In this case, I believe I got within a meter or so match between the LRO image and the default GMoon image of this location, but it's not perfect, and never will be.

The end result of all of this is that I believe the GMoon "Apollo Missions" layer is off by about 35 meters or so with the location of the Apollo 14 lander icon, and the ALSEP instrument package icon, and the EVA paths, as well. See the image below. If you toggle the .kmz overlay off and on, off and on, you can see the alignment with the background craters is pretty close. Enable the "Apollo Missions" layer, and toggle that off and on, off and on, with the overlay enabled, and you can see the difference between the locations.
