How do you email line measurements and trails to a friend? wmfolkers 4/24/12 1:20 PM
I'm working on a team project using Google earth. we have lots of line measurements and trails, but when ever one person try's to email the project to everyone else we only get the place marker. is there a way to send the whole project through email so that every one in the group has the same map and lines?

Hi, you need to make sure that everything is organised in a folder.  Create a folder under "My Places" (Add menu or right click menu).  Drag everything into it, unfortunately you'll need to do this individually for each item (placemark, path etc).  Then save or email the folder as a .kmz file.

Alternatively, if you have shared network space you could look into using network links: Sharing data over a network.  That way, one person could update or upload the file (still using a folder), and it would update on others' computers.

Or, depending on the type of data, you could share and collaborate by using a custom map in Google Maps (user guide).  Depending on the type of data though it may not work as well in Maps as in Earth.
