Terrain elevation data? smokey13 7/17/12 9:49 AM
I have read that Google Earth uses the EGM96 geoid to represent sea level.

When the terrain layer is turned and I move my cursor across the Google Earth image, an elevation reading is displayed at the bottom of the screen next to the Lat/Long coordinates.

My question - what exactly is the displayed elevation? Is it the orthometric height, between the EGM96 geoid and reference point represented by the cursor?
