To switch the look of Google Drive, simply click the Google Drive button at the top right corner. Then, to upload a folder just drag it from your desktop to the Drive area where the files appear.

Thanks for this - do you mean top left? There's no Google Drive button at the top right corner.
When I click the Google Drive button at the top left corner it takes me to the tree structure but I cannot see the previous set of folders. Perhaps I don't have permissions (these folders were created by someone else)?

yes, sorry, I meant left corner. This should lead you to the tree-structured folders, maybe you are not seeing the folders Produced files and Raw files because they are shared files not created by you, to see them click Shared with me in the left (yes, now it is left for sure) navigation. Then you can copy them to your Drive, by selecting them and clicking Organize icon.
