|Need to unsort survey answers in spreadsheet||JeriMont||4/30/12 1:43 PM|
I have a survey embedded on my website. I wanted to sort the answers that I have so that I could tabulate the answers. Instead of saving the spreadsheet in another location to sort it, I sorted the actual document (Goofed big time). Now, when someone takes the survey, their information is not showing up on the document. It is still accepting answers, but where is the information going?

Right to the bottom of the receiving sheet I imagine. What you need to do is create a second worksheet that is populated using a formula that sorts the data as you want it.

Let me add a bit to what our Top Contributor Gill has said:
1) I surmise you sorted the table in the Form Responses sheet in ascending or descending order by a certain column.
2) the first column of the table in the Form Responses sheet is the Timestamp column
3) you can unsort the table, you messed with, meaning restore to its natural state by sorting the messed up table (starting with row 2 down) by the Timestamp column in ascending order
If you can do that, I think you will get to where you should have been before you messed with the table.
