Don't want automatically generated Skype link vs simple 1-800 original text numbers that I upload. Any thoughts?? Garron-T 5/17/12 11:59 AM
I design small, simple websites in my retirement - actually using MS Publisher 2007 reasonably successfully (examples available on request). I love chrome, but when I type in an "800" phone order number on a site, Chrome converts the number to a Skype link which I don't want. IExplorer or FireFox don't do this, only Chrome. Any suggestions on how to avoid this conversion or to not have this happen, and to have Chrome leave the 1-800 numbers in the original font / format in which I originally typed the text. See website in question ( www.boydproducts.com ) and/or attachment.

You need to post in the Chrome forum...this is the forum of DFP...the online ad server the Google owns.  While it can run in Chrome...totally separate entity.

Best of luck...I rather dislike that function as well...and it might even be something that you have to turn off in Skype (I just ignore it)...

Hi Garron,

Hope all is well. This is not because of your website or the way the website is developed. This because of the Skype Extension in Google Chrome that is enabled and this is a browser preference which we cannot control. Please see screenshots for your reference where I tried to explain the Extensions and also got the numbers in the FONTS and COLORS you have them set once disabled the extension. Also did the same on IE 9, IE 8, IE 7 and Firefox.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks,
