Google Chrome won't allow IFRAME to load a html file BlogMaster2009 2/9/10 3:57 AM

I am trying to make IFRAME load an html file into a web page but Google Chrome won’t allow it.

My html file “MusicReggae.htm” contains the following lines:

<A HREF="http://sites.google.com/a/digitalundivide.com/www/home/internet-radio-stations---genre-reggae-1/radio-station---roots-reggae---s-k-y-f-m">Reggae Roots – S.K.Y. FM</A><br/>

<A HREF="http://sites.google.com/a/digitalundivide.com/www/home/internet-radio-stations---genre-reggae-1/internet-radio---radio-actitud">Radio Actitud</A>><br/>

NOTE: The html code in the file "MusicReggae.htm" works fine without the IFRAME.

Re: Google Chrome won't allow IFRAME to load a html file BlogMaster2009 2/9/10 3:58 AM
My iframe code is the following:

<iframe
        Name=”MusicReggae”
        src=" http://www.digitalundivide.com/MusicReggae.htm "
        width="400"
        height="600"
        frameborder="0"
        scrolling="auto"
        marginwidth="0"
        marginheight="0">your browser does not support IFRAMEs
</iframe>

The browser won’t allow the IFRAME to load the content of the file MusicReggae.htm into a web page and the message shown at the bottom line of the browser is: This type of file can harm your computer. Are you sure you want to download MusicReggae.htm? “Save” “Discard”

Is this happening because of security issues? What is the fix?

I have a similar problem

basic image with a link:

 <a href="schedule_frame.htm" target="home">
      <img border="0" src="Images/m_schedule.gif" BORDER=0
           onMouseOver="this.src='images/m_schedule_u.gif'"
           onMouseOut="this.src='images/m_schedule.gif'" width="178" height="45"></a>

Pointing to:

<iframe name="home" src="main_frame.htm" FRAMEBORDER="0" width="531" height="600" SCROLLING="no">
        Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames.</iframe>

It opens in a new tab every time. So far nothing will get it to work in Chrome. All other major browsers work correctly.

I have the same issue:

Internet Explorer (IE6) and Firefox (FF3.6.3) display iframes but Google Chrome (4.1.249.1045) does not:

The code is:

<iframe height="410" width="100%" frameBorder="0" src="http://www.google.com/buzz/matthewbowden/J1oNkuAKuhs/I-really-do-love-my-Nexus-One-Just-such-a-pleasure">your browser does not support IFRAMEs</iframe>

Either chrome requires a different encoding or it is a bug.

Has anyone found a way to make Google Chrome 4.1 display iframes?

I really need to embed a webpage are there any web gurus out there that can help?

I have a slightly different problem.

I can get the IFRAME to display an html, but the links in the IFRAME won't go anywhere/do anything.

Compare this: http://bozdoz.info/blog/
With its source: http://blog.bozdoz.info/

Any suggestions?

I am evaluating the approach to develop widgets/badges for our clients. And trying to see iframe will be able to work on most major browsers (FF, IE, Chrome and Safari). I came across this post and trying to replicate this problem. But it seems to work for the Chrome version 7.0.517.44.

What version you were using? Or this problem is no longer valid?

This appears to be a version thing. I had 8.x, found this page when I Googled the problem. Updated Chrome to 9.x and the problem went away.

I'm running 9.0.597.98 on XP/32 and still having problems loading iframes on Chrome.  Specifically I'm having trouble with the facebook "social plugin."

I'm developing a website with affiliate links to Amazon which require iframes.  This works in every other browser except Chrome.  I'm using version 9.0.597.98 on XP/32.  I spent hours trying to figure out why these wouldn't display until I discovered that it was Chrome which was preventing rendering.

I just figured out that it was Chrome's beta version of the no-tracking plugin that was blocking the iframe images.

has anyone found a solution to this problem, chrome 10 stable just will not render iframe I added to my website. it is simple iframe from amazon for a product add. i contacted amazon associates support and they said that I have used their iframe correctly but that i need to contact google for the specific chrome problem. as if google actually answers these types of problems!

I'm using this script (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/iframessi2.htm) to resize iframe, anyway it's working fine except with google chrome!

WHERE ARE YOU GOOGLE, JUST GIVE US AN ANSWER OR WRITE A SCRIPT TO RESIZE IFRAME.

I'm about to uninstall google chrome and I'll if I did not get a solution!

The answer to the question lies here: http://bit.ly/lhXx0l

"...If you're using frames or iframes, specify the encoding at the top of the source of those frames, as well. Some browsers (including Google Chrome) won't recognize encoding declarations that appear deep in a document (such as after CSS or script in your document's head section)....Also make sure that your web server is not sending conflicting HTTP headers. Headers sent by the web server will override any charset declarations in your page."

here is an even stranger iframe thing. I have a web page that has iframes in it. When I go to the host where the web page is located and bring it up, Everything works fine in Google Chrome. If I try to bring that same web page up locally on my computer, the Iframes do not work properly. The Iframes simply do not load locally on my computer. They load in all other types of browsers but not Google Chrome 13.0.782.220 m.
Here is the web page that works when you bring it up on the server ... But my local copy of the page will not work with Google Chrome.!!!!!

web page in question ---->  www.georgecurington.com

Any help would be appreciated since I prefer using Google Chrome and would rather develop and change the page from time to time using google chrome.

Solution from azazure was what worked for me. Plugin Facebook Disconnect - Version: 1.0.2 was causing FB iFrames to not render. Thanks very much!

Yup, it was the Facebook Disconnect blocking iFrames for me as well. Disabled it and everything is fine now.

Fixed it by disabling AdBlock Plus.  Was driving me insane.
