Are you sure you want to open 15 tabs? rodgek 2/6/10 7:48 AM
I open more than 15 tabs frequently.  In a very non-stylistic fashion (very not Chrome like) Chrome asks the question:

"Are you sure you want to open 15 tabs?"

Thanks for your attention.

There is no way to disable that yet...

This seems to break the ethos that Chrome has. If you watch the promotional video:

Go to 16:58 you will see "No Modal Dialog". Well this dialog is definitely modal.

I'm really surprised there isn't a "don't show this again" checkbox on that pop-up. Not to mention the lack of an informative message or pop-up name. Very bad UI.

I would really like to disable this feature as well, I open a group of about 15 tabs several times a day and the convenience of being able to do this is really lessened by the fact that I have to interact with a dialogue every time.

This is an important thing to fix.  It's the main reason I am still looking for a new browser.

This is a remnant of the old-style browsers, (features from Firefox for example, that existed for some time), used to prevent people's computers from crashing b/c of opening too many tabs.

Chrome/Chromium developers probably didn't give it too much thought, but with today's computing style and power, this component does need some work.  I believe Chrome developers should allow people to set a specific folder of bookmarks as "Safe" to open together on a regular basis.

I also open more than 15 tabs quite frequently. I hope that the devs will fix this in a future patch. I'm sure it is a very quick and easy fix!

Still no fix 4 months later?  Oh well.
I used to say Microsoft made decisions for us (albeit lousy ones).
Now the Chrome staff is doing the same thing.  Where did the limit of 15 come from?  Why can't we pick our own number.   Someone might want 6 (yeah, I saw the app).  Someone  else might want 20 or 25.

Add me to the list of someone with a 15+ tab set that is annoyed by this popup.  Minimally we should be able to customize the number of tabs that will trigger this warning dialog, or mark our own bookmark folders as 'safe' as a previous poster mentioned.  Poor usability to hard code a number in that can, and has, grown obsolete.

Sad to see that this is still not fixed. One of the features that keeps me on Firefox is not having to deal with this, as I rarely open LESS than 15 tabs at a time, and having no option to hide the nag screens in chrome is puzzling.

I would like to add my support to this feature request. It is very annoying to have this modal dialog box without any way to disable it.

It appears that Google, aside from setting up this forum, never checks the statements made.  Sad.  A wee bit of "Tell 'em what they want to hear and Show 'em what they want to see." After that, ignore 'em.

I also have sets of pages that I open at the same time.  The dialog has forced me back to Firefox at least once.

What I found was that, unless I turned off Chrome's predictive pre-load of linked pages, opening 16 tabs at a time really dragged down the network.  Possibly this is why the Chrome developers are ignoring these suggestions, they note the results but rather than figure out out to handle the problem, just put up a "are you sure"  modal dialog.   Instead, they should have just automatically not does its preload "predict network actions" functions when more than (say) 5 pages are being loaded at a time.

I just went from firefox to chrome after ever since i use internet at home. so this dialog is really annoying if you open >20 tabs every day throughout a bookmark folder. still no fix after that amount of time? sad :(

Yes a "don't bother me again about this" checkbox would make me amazingly happy. If I could upvote this option more than once, I would have done it 19 times, because that is the number of tabs that chrome asks me if i'm sure i want to open the most often.

Perhaps they put the limit to no overcharge older computers whith few computations capabilities.

But at least they could allow to remove that limit through a plugin able enough to see if the computer is capable of opening that many tabs or not.
