I want to start google-chrome after a crash but i dont want the message asking me to restore the last session. just a clean start.
this is for a kiosk like pc.
btw: kiosk mode does not disable this.

I don't think that is possible.

But you can add this request on the suggestion page of Google Chrome (forum)

Maybe this is the answer: http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95421

I had the same issue when developing a touch screen kiosk, start chrome in incognito mode and you wont see the restore button.
chrome --incognito --kiosk http://127.0.0.1

When you run --incognito aren't you seeing a small bar at the top of the screen though? That's certainly better than seeing the restore bar but still not all the way perfect for kiosk mode. I saw this post and was wondering if anyone had any other ideas for running Chrome on top of Ubuntu:
I still have a problem with kiosk mode: it keeps putting up the "browser didn't shut
down correctly..." message.
As basso.mike says above, you can avoid it by also passing --incognito. But then
there's a small strip at the top of the screen indicating incognito mode. Also, I'm
thinking that maybe incognito mode has other unwanted features but I don't know.
My current solution to the problem is running the following command before starting
sed -i 's/"exited_cleanly": false/"exited_cleanly": true/' \
But of course, it's mostly a hack. Would be nice if the restore function was disabled
when running in kiosk mode. Thanks!
