Reporting a bug or broken website Shawn (Googler) 3/31/09 11:43 PM
If you've come across a bug or a webpage that isn't working properly in Google Chrome but is normal in other browsers, you can report it directly through the browser. To do so:

1. Click the Page menu .
2. Select Report a bug or broken website.
3. Choose an issue type from the drop-down menu. The web address of the webpage you're on is recorded automatically.
4. If possible, add key details in the 'Description' field, including steps to reproduce the issue you're experiencing.
5. Keep 'Send source of current page' and 'Send screenshot of current page' checkboxes selected.
6. Click the Send report button to report a Google Chrome bug.

Note, you won't see a confirmation but please be assured that your report has been logged.

For more info, you can visit the help center http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95760
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website HiloBoyS 4/6/09 5:52 PM
Shawn, is there a way to have it take the screen shot instantly when you click on the report bug or broken website link from the drop down list? I couldnt type the description fast enough before the error went away and it probably looked like the problem I described isnt in the screenshot attached. Visual problems such as loading, images, text, process, etc which only briefly show or less than a minute would not be shown after description is filled in.

Thanks,
Scott

Hey,

I wanted to report a problem with the website I use for internet banking, but I don't want to send on the screenshot as it'll show my account details, etc. The link would be fine I'm guessing as it doesn't show log in details, and you'd still need to log in is the problem.

So just wondering what I should do here as I know a screenshot would help, but obviously don't want to send on a screenshot with my account details.

Thanks,

Graham.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website bbw 5/23/09 7:56 AM
You could take a screenshot yourself, then black out your details. If you were to then load it onto a photo service and view it full screen, you could send a bug report from that page and just change the link to your bank.

Or you could upload the edited screenshot onto the forum, and hope that a Google employee notices.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website coover 6/6/09 12:14 AM
I have been reporting a broken website in the way described above... broken on the Google Browser only ... for about a week. A new version has jut come out 3.0.183.1 ... and the website is still broken. It is obvious that other problems are more important than broken websites OR no one is listening. The broken site is http://my.myway.com. Fix it soon!

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website shaynemccarter 9/28/09 9:48 AM
This is a report on chrome and the functionality of it. It does not work well with microsoft frontpage web designs. It also does not work well with paypal shipping labels.
Also does not work well with USPS shipping labels. Also does not print at proper size on final printing of a page. Please be advised that it needs to address these issues.

For the problem is chinese website problem, please set lunange unicode or chinese(china) to see what I say.
如今,firefox for linux可以解决的问题,相信chromium for linux很快也能解决。
3,flash问题,在开心网(http://www.kaixin001.com)有装饰房子的FLASH,该FLASH的下半部分不能显示,停车时对话框出不来,firefox 正常。

Sorry Shawn, but 4.0.237.0 seems to have yanked this feature.

Already reported that page to internal crew earlier today.

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website Selden Deemer 11/12/09 2:11 PM
This procedure for reporting bugs does not work with Chrome 4.0.237.0 for Linux -- the choices described do not exist. I have noticed two different issues with this build:

1. Unable to download PDF files. This is a problem limited to Chrome; the instructions that have been described in some other threads do not apply for the Linux version of Chrome, as there is no "Edit" menu.
2. Pulldown menus on some web pages do not work. A specific (and ironic) example is the Gmail gadget in iGoogle. Clicking on the "Actions" pulldown produces a blank pulldown. On some sites, it's possible to guess the choices, and select an invisible choice, but not with the Gmail gadget. I'm 99% certain this is a new behavior; pulldown menus worked in previous builds of Chrome.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website rocketKid 11/15/09 11:09 PM
I am using linux_current _unstable version for chrome and have come across the following issue :
1. Dropdown(select box) doesn't populate. Example :  www.viaworld.in
2. There is no option to report a bug under the Page Menu.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website rocketKid 11/18/09 2:19 AM
Chrome is unable to display an xml file unlike any other browser. I tried a simple xml :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<mytag>
</mytag>

 Although Chrome prints the tag-content. So when i tried this :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<mytag>hello</mytag>

I could see "hello" string  in the browser.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website rocketKid 11/18/09 2:20 AM
and yes the drop down bug is fixed now. Thank You!!

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website BenjaminGeer 12/8/09 2:26 PM
Shawn, there's no "Report a bug or broken website" option in the Linux version of Chrome.  This is really baffling.  Why release beta software and not give people a way to report bugs?

XML parsing issues similar to 'RocketKid'.. Displays content, but not the tags. Is that the correct behaviour.. I would expect :
raw xml - show the tags
rss,atom and similar to review the namespace info .. ie " <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">  " and parse and display accordingly..

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website CloudAran 12/24/09 6:45 AM
I'd like to second BenjaminGeer's post, with relation to the Mac Beta as well. This procedure does not work for bug reporting as our version doesn't have those options either. In fact this seems to be the only way to report bugs as the following contact page only lists Windows OSs for reporting problems/feedback:

http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/request.py?contact_type=feedback
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website CloudAran 12/24/09 6:49 AM
I thought I should probably post my individual problem separately though. The issue I ran into is that the new windows (some browsers define them as pop-ups or can force them into tabs) used by Pandora.com to view song/album/station details, particularly to edit a station (important functionality!) simply do not work in Chrome. No window or error comes up, these links/buttons/menus simply don't react when you make a selection.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website Stomme poes 12/29/09 6:41 AM
As a user of Chrome on Linux I also don't have the report option.  However when I was installing Chrome I did check NO on the installation popup that said something about automatically reporting crashes and things.  Is it possible that this is why there is no Report Bug on my Chrome for Linux?  I kinda didn't want to remove and re-install to find out.  I know chrome is beta.  As a web developer I am seeing sometimes serious rendering bugs in Chrome/Linux that are (luckily) not apparent on Chrome/Windows.  I came across this thread in order to report it.

I have a bug in Chrome 3.0.195.38 on Windows Vists that happens on many different pages, so it's not page-specific.  But I can't figure out where to post it.  Any help?
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website Tanatos 1/14/10 3:49 AM
I'm a user of Chrome in Linux SuSE too, and I also don't have the report option. I cheked YES to report about crashes, so it doesn't depend on it, Stomme poes.

I didn't find any other way to report about bug, except writing here. Chrome can't find Flash Player at all on my comp, so I can't watch youtube or any other flash-video. But Mozilla works perfect. On Adobe web-site I also didn't find player for chrome for linux. How soon it will appear?

I am running Google Chrome on Ubuntu.  I go to some web sites which popup a .gif ad.  When the ad pops up, the page goes blank.  I can get the page back if I hit the reload button once or twice.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website smily03 1/29/10 3:23 PM
Found another really random bug that only seems to affect Chrome 4 Beta.  The code below works fine in Chrome 3.0.195.38, Safari 4 (Win & Mac), IE7, IE8, FF3, FF3.5.

If you code a form, such as:

<form id="fm1" action="http://your.web.add/action.jsp">
  <input type="text" id="usr" name="usr"/>
  <input type="password" id="pass" name="pass" onkeydown="if (event.keyCode == 13) doLogin()"/>
  <div class="myclass" id="submitButton" onclick="document.forms.fm1.submit()" title="Click to login"</div>
</form>
<script type="text/javascript">
  function doLogin() { document.forms.fm1.submit(); }
</script>

then the form will login successfully if you click the login div.  However, if you hit "enter" when in the password box, it will just refresh the page.  This also happens if you try to do like "document.getElementById("submitButton").click();"  The code works perfectly fine in all the other aforementioned browsers however.

BUT - if you change the javascript function doLogin to say "document.fm1.submit()", hitting "enter" WILL work properly in Chrome4, but NOT in IE or Firefox.

(And yes, submit DIV, not button - for styling of the form.)

@tanatos
Thanks for the info.  Re flash:
I'm thinking the Opera hack would help you.  Without Flash installed for Mozilla, I can have no flash in any browsers at all on my OS (adobe --).  However since you already have it for Mozilla, search for Flash linux Opera and basically they copy the filename for where mozilla stores the flash stuff to the opera folder... I would not be surprised to hear that would work for Chrome.  This is an Adobe problem basically, not Google's.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website smily03 1/31/10 10:32 AM
@tantos & @Stomme poes:

I was able to get all my plugins working with Chrome in openSUSE by going to /opt/google/chrome/ and running the command:

ln -s /usr/lib/browser-plugins/ plugins

That way, any plugin installed for Firefox will also work for Chrome (java, flash, helix, etc.)

As a software designer/developer, I can well empathize with your frustrations, Google at large, but I feel the need to report yet another issue.  All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but when going to Spira Defense, the game (panel) never loads.  Works fine in Firefox, so I figure this is probably a linkage oversight or some other detail.

Page: http://www.towerdefence.net/games-172-Spira_Defence.php

Works in Firefox, guess it should work *perfectly* in Google Chrome, all things considered.  Running from n Ubuntu Linux 8.04 LTS box, if that helps/makes any difference.

Thanks for your time and attention!

www.ksplice.com CRASHES the tab. It never loads, just presents a "wait or close" dialog. It doesn't matter which page on that domain, they all fail to load and crash, but work fine in other webbrowsers.

Since Linux users aren't allowed an other way to report broken websites, I thought I'd report it here. Cheers!

good day everyone, i would like to inform the developers of google chrome that i encounter a very terrible problem in v4.0.249.89 the stable version because when i access several site's like yahoo, chrome download something instead of viewing the website's and up to the latest beta/dev version v5.0.335.0 the problem still exist, but if i downgraded my chrome into v3.0.197.11 i can view the site's with no problem. so please fix this problem as soon as possible because i love google chrome so much then the other browser's, thankyou google chrome family and more power.

Godaddy Domain Manager, Chrome does not render the frame correctly. Firefox on Linux works fine.

Netapp administration interface wizards display, but when clicking the "next button" nothing happens so you can not proceed through the wizard. Again, this works fine in Firefox on Linux.

I am experiencing these on Ubuntu x64 9.10 with Google Chrome 5.0.307.11 beta installed. I would love to be able to report these things the way the Windows folks can.

A clear example of how Unicode doesn't display in Chrome is to go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_alphanumeric_symbols -  You will notice these characters displayed as empty boxes instead of their original letters. I Tested the same site with FireFox 3.6 and it successfully displayed the symbols.

Used Chrome for a while now and never had a problem. For some reason It won't load any pages at all now. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it more than 4 times now. I've even gone as far as resetting my whole computer back to a prior date to see if that would fix the problem. Still nothing! What now?

Bug report since you don't want us Linux Chrome users to report bugs through a regular channel.

Ubuntu x64 9.10 Google Chrome 5.0.307.11 beta

Suddenly (as of this afternoon, Wed Mar 24, 2010) can't access gmail, unless I FIRST remove all google cookies.
Unless I remove the cookies I get the following:

  This webpage is not available.

  The webpage at https://mail.google.com/mail/?auth=....
  might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

  Below is the original error message
     Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): Unknown error.

After removing cookies I can get to the login page and login. But if I logout and then login through another Google service (say maps.google.com). Then the problem is back. It is actually more complicated than that since on some attempts logging in from the login page (after working to get to it) failed.

I'm experiencing the same error as ccubed, also as of yesterday.  I had better luck when I clicked on the gmail extension button but that isn't good enough.

OK, I am running Google Chrome 5.0.342.7 on Slackware64.

Now, when I try to attach/upload a file (be it on imageshack, gmail or whatever), the browser simply crashes without any warnings, errors or any kind of message. So I tried to debug the problem by means of gdb. Bellow is what I get:

=============

That one is what I got when trying to upload an image to imageshack. The steps were:

1- open chrome
2- go to www.imageshack.com
3- click on "choose file'
4- I double clicked a folder (Downloads)
5- inside that folder there is the "pics" folder. When I double clicked it the crash happend.

I can reproduce the same behavior AT ANY TIME, multiple times. The browser also crashes if I double click a file.

Tips?

I have been having issues with Chrome for some time now. I was just on Facebook for all the sudden it froze and then I get a "oops the link appears to be broken". It never ever did this until I started using google chrome. I also have serious issues with clicking my Facebook in my favorites/bookmarks or even my home page from my cable company that I get my net through  and I get MySpace that I never ever use anymore. I never had these issues with IE8. I literally have to reboot my whole computer and and that doesnt always fix it.

Clicking on an URL referencing any Google Group or Group topic page hangs the tab while doing a redirect.  Chrome redirects even if I enter the URL of the Group or Group topic page in the address bar.

For example, http://groups.google.com/group/django-users/

Google Chrome        5.0.375.86 (Official Build 49890)
WebKit        533.4
V8        2.1.10.13
User Agent        Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.86 Safari/533.4
Command Line         /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome

Starting some build in 51000 series - the bug reporting menu no longer seems to be there in the Chromium nightly builds. Is the menu removed on purpose? How are we to report issues/wish list to make chrome even better than what it is.?

Howto reproduce very very ugly and cryptic font rendering!!!

1. Open Chrome
2. Open index.html and Set this in your css: body{  font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; }
3. Install Helvetic Neue and Helvetica otf font.
4. Refresh the site

You'll see totally ugly font rendering.. You need to close and repopen chrome to fix that.

NetApp FilerView administration interface: popup window wizards display, but when clicking the "next" button nothing happens so you can not proceed through the wizard. Works fine in IE6.  (paraphrasing Lantard here, and expounding, who previously reported this issue).

  I converted the wizard window to a tab so that I could get to the page tools menu, and from there bring up the JavaScript console window. Upon clicking the "next" button, there appeared in the console message window several instances of the following message: "XML self-closing tag syntax used on <label>. The tag will not be closed."

  My environment: Chrome 5.0.375.125 on Windows XP SP3

Javascript Regular expression matching error:
Please try the javascript as shown below:

var href = "http://www.google.com/abc12.html";
eval('var pattern = /\\/([\\da-f]{5})\\.html(#\\d)*$/i;');
if (pattern.test(href)) { alert("true");}else{ alert("false");}

with the chrome(V6.0.427.0), run the script below, you would see "true", but with the latest chrome(V6.0.496.0), you would see "false".

It's a serious error, please fix it as soon as possible!

There is no Bug Reporting control as specified in any version of Chrome anymore.

Not since version 6.0.472.59 has it been there.

So, the question is renewed: How do we report bugs in Chrome version 6.0.472.59 and newer?

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website ahettinger 10/12/10 10:30 AM
Bug I've noticed: when there is a drop down menu on a website, for example, a list of US states, I hit the first letter of the state to jump to that option.  (In my case, "G" for Georgia)  Then, when I click to select Georgia, it leaves the field blank.  This locks me out of selecting Georgia at all, until I select a different value first and then go back to Georgia.

This is only a problem if I click to select.  If I hit enter after typing "G," there is no problem.

Here's a good place to test this bug: http://www.banksnb.com/tools/choosestate.asp

That is just one example, the problem is present with any drop down menu.  When I try IE or Firefox there is no problem.

I am on Win 7 64 bit, using Chrome 6.0.472.63

When you hover over the smaller product shots the larger one is supposed to change. It does not in Chrome 8.0.552.28 beta on Windows XP SP3.

It does work when I view in an IE tab.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website eligosquemada 11/9/10 6:09 PM
This is mostly rooted in me being kind of a jackass to start with, but now I have no earthly idea how to fix it for Chrome:

I deleted most of my Userspace (Appdata and pretty much everything in there) on the Windows partition in a space-saving effort since I was less than good about predicting how much space a Windows 7 installation would take when I bought it.

However, after having done that, Google Chrome started refusing to open any site using an https:// address. I'm assuming this has something to do with certification, but I tried clearing everything related to chrome, reinstalling and the same thing keeps happening so I must be missing something important. I really, really want to use Google Chrome for all my browsing but simply can't anymore because of this malady. I hope someone knows how to fix this.

'Print selection' doesn't work correctly on

I selected the bottom area the page so as to include the last diagram (Diagram 10)

image.

This page works fine in IE8   http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/public/where_was_I/article445097.ece   but not in Google Chrome.

The Times Help Desk suggested this as a solution and from what I've read it seems the only answer  ....................................................

Dear Reader,

Thank you for your comments, which have been noted. I would suggest using an alternative browser to Google Chrome as it is yet to fully support our websites.

Kind regards.

Which version of Chrome was used?

What aspect of the page was not shown properly?

As it stands, the OP is not informative.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website SWLinPHX 11/15/10 4:20 AM
I decided to give Google Chrome more of an extended tryout and take a break from Safari, then configured all prefs, added extensions and customized thoroughly.  Then I went to work on the website I administer and it won't load!  I see the blue tab at the bottom left saying "Waiting for..." but it never loads.  The page freezes after about 10 seconds (I can never scroll at any time) and I get the "Aw, Snap!" message.  I know it is not the extensions or security software as I've the problem persists with all those disabled.  I don't think it could be my Chrome profile because I hardly have used the browser and besides, it is only for this one website (at least that I know so far) that is not working on Chrome, and which IS working on all other browsers.

I am using OS X 10.5.8 and Google Chrome 7.0.517.44

Please help!  I cannot use Chrome if I can't even access the website I administer.  Thanks...

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website SWLinPHX 11/15/10 4:41 AM
Okay, wait.  I tried EVERYTHING that is EXCEPT after I did all these tweaks (including Adobe Flash settings since that website uses it a lot) I did not try quitting and re-starting Chrome.  I just thought about that and now it loads fine!  But I will hold off judgment until I see if the problem recurs over the next few days.  I'm not sure which tweak corrected the issue now.
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website SWLinPHX 11/15/10 4:48 AM
I spoke too soon; now it is doing it again.  I know it has to be something simple with that site or page since all other pages in Chrome seem fine so far, and that page opens fine in all other browsers.  : (
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website vasa1 11/15/10 6:44 AM
SWLinPHX, why don't you run it through the validator here:

(But do it while you're seated ;))

I went to the site. It loaded. First time lucky? I'll check a little later in more detail.

Good to see you're taking the trouble to check with a variety of browsers!
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website SWLinPHX 11/15/10 7:14 AM
Oh I've been working with this site for years and other browsers so I know it's okay.  I've worked out kinks many times over they years and it has run fine for quite some time.  The fact that the whole page just freezes upon loading on Google Chrome only doesn't sound like it is due to bad HTML code.  I started using Firefox again instead.  I just tried it again on Chrome and this time it loaded fine and played the music and all Flash for about 30 seconds until the page and scroll froze (with music still playing) and then soon went to "Aw, Snaps" again.  Did you try it for at least one minute?
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website mnemonick 11/15/10 11:25 AM
New post - newly broken site with latest dev version (9.0.576.0).

www.titantv.com The most recent dev version has broken the scripted pop-up display for program details. Cleared my cookies, logged out/in, etc. - didn't fix it. Site works as designed in IE8 & FF. Hopefully the next release will restore it. :)
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website SWLinPHX 11/15/10 10:38 PM
UPDATE:  Something that should make my problem easier to resolve is that I now notice that not only do all other sites load fine in Chrome so far (and the problematic site fine in all other browsers) but even all other pages in that domain load fine except the class homepages.  This happens with every users class homepage, but is fine with any other Class Report site such as main school pages, directories, profiles, trunk pages for Class Report, etc.  There is something in all the class homepages (the ones for a specific year) that is not compatible with Chrome, and this includes every class I've tried, even those standardized template pages that have not been claimed or altered in any way by an administrator yet.

Although Windows feedback may help, I would especially like feedback from those using Google Chrome for Mac. Right now I am trying it with Chrome version 7.0.517.44 on Mac OS X 10.5.8. Whether it is working for you or is not, if you could also include the version of Chrome and your computer OS version that would be helpful. Also, please try it a few times and if it appears to be working wait at least a minute or two to see if it stops (a couple times the problem seemed to be resolved and the page loading, only to ultimately have the same issue again).  Again, here are some examples that won't load and crash wit the "Aw, Snap!" message:

http://www.classreport.org/usa/az/avondale/afhs/1986/

http://www.classreport.org/usa/ca/santa_ynez/syvuhs/1961

http://www.classreport.org/usa/ny/fairport/fhs/1977/

Okay, I take that back... it seems there are some class year sites that are working, such as http://www.shawneewolves66.com/ (his URL doesn't change to the standard classreport.org URL when the page loads; it stays showing his custom URL and http://classreport.org/usa/wy/casper/nchs/1968/ so I'm not sure what the common element is in most of the homepages that won't load in Google Chrome, at least for Mac (at least for me).

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website mnemonick 11/26/10 3:19 PM
Just FYI: www.titantv.com is still badly broken in the latest dev build. Not only are the details pop-ups not working, but most of the controls in the dashboard bar (just above the channel listings) don't function either. Only the 'Manage' and 'Print' buttons work (Print only works half the time); you can't use the date or time menus or the Add or Tools buttons at all.

Doesn't seem to be Titan's problem since their site works in IE and FF (latest) just fine.

I have some display issues with the following websites:

http://www.johnnywander.com/
https://chrome.google.com/webstore
http://www.blogger.com/

And around a staggering half of all other websites I visit.

Another surprise is that Gmail wil display fine, but always shows this error message: "Some Gmail features have failed to load. If this problem persists, try reloading the page or using the basic html version."

•automatic updates turned on
•no extensions running whatsoever
•running the Mac version of Chrome on Snow Leopard (hardware is a 17-inch Macbook Pro)
•Snow Leopard is also set with automatic updates

I have never encountered this problem with web pages before. It surprises me, but maybe the latest update with Snow Leopard, the one that delivers the App Store and a few other updates, has interfered with how Chrome operates. I don't believe Chrome has updated automatically since that last OS X update.

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website akc1006 1/23/11 11:57 PM
My problem isn't with any specific website. The past few weeks or so, it takes Chrome a very long time to load even the home page (which I have set to Goggle). Most of the time it just sits there showing that it is trying to load, but it takes so long that I don't wait around for it to load and just use Firefox, which is how I am posting this reply. I haven't ever had a problem with Chrome until now. And Firefox and IE have been loading sites just fine, so I know it doesn't have to do with my actual computer (I'm on Vista Home Premium OS).
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website f00had 1/27/11 8:15 AM
For some reason Chrome has stopped loading certain websites properly, such as www.imageshack.us (when I click webcam nothing appears, it's definitely not a problem with flash) and www.sankakucomplex.com (links to popular articles on top right don't show up, can't toggle mature content at all in certain articles and nothing happens when i click the share button at the top of an article)
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website cmoschini 1/27/11 2:42 PM
This feature no longer appears to exist in Chrome. I'm using Chrome 8, which does not have a Page icon, just a Wrench. Most of the Page menu was moved into the Wrench menu when this merge occurred, and most of the Wrench menu got put out onto a Tools submenu in that one menu.

None of these is Report a Bug or Broken Website... the feature is gone. Where did it go?
Re: Reporting a bug or broken website sunny2ok 1/28/11 11:14 AM
I agree with cmoschini.  There is no Page icon and no place to report bugs in the menu under the wrench.

I'm finding that my websites with tables do NOT display properly with Chrome, although they look fine in IE, Opera, and FireFox.  I have tried researching the problem, but have not found any answer that actually fixes the problem.

I have a web site with 6 table rows, every other row extends beyond the right margin.  These table rows have the exact dimensions in pixels in the code.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website dmeans08 2/13/11 6:47 AM
Chrome causes a consistent problem when used with pgdp.net which is the project gutenberg distributed proofreaders site.  It is the site used to put together public domain books for release on http://www.gutenberg.org/.

When proofreading a page of text sometimes it is necessary to insert a blank line at the top.  Chrome upon loading the text removes the blank line.  This problem has been around since chrome 7 (as far as I can tell) and is discussed at this forum on pgdp.net.

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website Mark Hurd 2/15/11 8:58 PM
I'm using Chrome 9.0.597.98 and it works well for a lot of pages (with about 20-odd tabs open at once), but some pages refuse to load, INCLUDING THE BUG REPORTING PAGE: chrome://bugreport/#nn !

This issue started approximately when the 9.0.x release (but it may have been occuring for some of the later 8.x releases, I don't recall for sure).

More specifically: It takes a couple of clicks on a bookmark to get even Gmail's URL to appear in the address bar, then it doesn't do anything until I press enter, and that often just means the URL dissapears again.

Trying to modify the URL first (e.g. by adding or removing a / at the end) sometimes finally gets the URL to "take" and the rotating "icon" in the tab starts and the recycle button changes to a cross, the web page clears, but nothing else happens.

And like I said, it happens to the bug reporting page too.

I can' find any "Page Menu" to report broken dispay of web pages. So I just report it here.

Google Chrome (11.0.696.71) is consuming very much CPU when this page is shown:

I see the same problem with Firefox (4.01), but not with IE (9.0.8112.16421).

THERE IS NO "PAGE" MENU THAT I CAN SEE!

Re: Reporting a bug or broken website Gwyneth_Bee 6/20/11 2:58 PM
HI everyone,

The initial information on how to report a bug or broken webpage given by Shawn is outdated. However, you can follow the updated directions below:

1. Click the wrench icon.
2. Select "Tools".
3. Choose "Report an issue...".
4. Add key details, including steps to reproduce the issue you're experiencing in the "Tell us what is happening." field and select the "Include this screenshot:" check box.
5. Click "Send feedback".

Thanks,
Bee
