It appears that http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95647 is essentially useless for Chrome 18.0.x. I find NO "Advanced Settings" button so the help text on that URL is irrelevant.

No thats the correct info. The show advanced settings link is at the very bottom of the settings page. Alternatively you can go to chrome://chrome/settings/cookies

Thanks for the actual URN chrome://chrome/settings/cookies
FYI don't know what browser you're actually using, but 18.0.1025.168 m, on Vista Home Prem:
- first of all, there are FOUR settings pages when you click <wrench> | Settings: basics, personal stuff, under the hood, extensions. The starting URN is chrome://settings/browser.
- NONE of these 4 pages has any control labeled "Advanced Settings." I have looked now at least three times. It is NOT there. Rather, you have to click (1) Under the Hood; (2) Content Settings; and finally All Cookies and Site Data.
Final rant: when a website suggests deleting its cookies in order to solve a problem, it is a larger problem that Google, in pursuit of a lean UI, manages to conceal needed controls.

The reason it doesn't look the same is because your using an old version and not the latest release of chrome. So update to the latest version and it will look the same as the intructions.
