| "Network Error" when trying to download something | Matty Muffins | 05/07/12 13:59 | I'm trying to download a movie on Chrome but once it gets to around 250 MB (out of 700 MB), it stops and says "Network Error". This has been going on for the past couple of days. I don't know why it all of a sudden started happening. Any reason as to why it keeps saying that? |

| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | TileGuy8453 | 09/07/12 12:06 | Same issue. I'm trying to download attachments from my Gmail and I get the network error. It crashes randomly from quarter to half way downloaded and the file size does not matter. It just randomly started today and it's not that virus either because internet access isn't an issue and I can view my attachments but I cannot dl them. Did a lot of searching online and this is the only mention of this issue that I have found. So it seems that this has just started to happen and it must be a server issue or there download manager is glitching. If you find a fix let me know. |
| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | coolodeon_server_group2013 | 14/07/12 16:05 | Yeah, Im having the same problem. Im trying to download Windows 2012 Server RC2. Which is over 2GB. By using my network knowledge this could be caused by a overload of ping packets being sent backwards/forwards from ur ISP to your IP address. This acts like a mini-DOS and when there is to many packets the network becomes un-active and breaks the download. The only way to change this is to use a ISP which offers you bigger bandwidth. I can use my councils internet at school directly through our servers. However this does cause a delay in the downloading process. Also another thing to try is maybe using your network while nobody else is connected. This will focus all its power/strength onto your PC and should offer better speeds and transferability. If you need anymore help on this or if these methods don't work, please feel free to email me at "webm...@coolodeon.co.uk" and I will offer some 1-2-1 help on this maybe through remote assistance ??. Thanks, |
| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | jimbalo56 | 13/08/12 15:19 | I've been having this too! It could stop at any time in the download. I've also noticed that at the same time my downloads stopped working, I could no longer fully load videos, without them freezing, OR have sound in ANY browsers!! Hoping there's a solution to this soon. |
| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | Sam Zabarenko | 20/09/12 16:06 | Google, If you don't fix this, people will move on to mozzila. Or better yet safari or IE. Fix your problems. |

| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | Crumbsy Rowan | 18/10/12 04:33 | I posted this on a different thread/discussion, so I figured I'd copy paste it here too:
I recently tried to download a zip file, split into 2 parts. As usual, part 2 was the first to be downloaded, and then when I started downloading part 1, I kept getting the same annoying error. Googled alot for fixes, nothing posted, virtually NOTHING. --THEN I tried closing my antivirus and it worked-- I use ESET NOD32 Antivirus, not really sure if closing it fixed my download issue, but it worked and I thought it might help someone else :) How I closed it: Try downloading the file again, it should work. VERY IMPORTANT!!! I sure hope this helps. |
| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | Shawn Kharoo | 19/10/12 02:15 | You can use Orbit down loader to download your files even faster and it's a free program. The good thing about using this software is, even if your download is interrupted halfway, you can still start from where it stopped, so we don't loose bandwidth. You can go to orbitdowloader.com. Have a nice day |
| Re: "Network Error" when trying to download something | ScottieP | 22/11/12 09:01 | Okay I am also having the same problem, but it's really weird for me. I have Chrome, IE, and Firefox and this issue is occurring across all those platforms. However, I went to a local cafe shop and it all worked perfectly for me. Maybe try to make the download on a different network. |
