Hey Chromies,

You know what they say about March? In like Chrome 17, out like Chrome 18. Hooray for Chrome 18 launching on stable! Today's web brings a beautiful, rich experience right into your browser; with our newest release to the stable channel, we've enabled fancier 3d content and sped up drawing performance and graphics.

Want to learn more about the release? Read more about the nuts and bolts on the Chromium blog.

Yeah for Chrome 18 and a fancier web!

Short grammar intermission: "Today's release brings a few improvements to speed up" versus " we've enabled fancier 3d content and sped up drawing performance and graphics". In the first sentence, "to speed" is an infinitive of a verb where as in the second sentence, "sped" is the past tense of the same verb. In the second sentence, because enabled is also in the past tense, sped is as well, following parallel conjugation. They are two different tenses of the verb, and you cannot replace "speed" with "sped" as you would not have parallel construction in the second sentence.

And now back to our featured programming: Chrome 18 :)
