Chrome won't load any pages VLong 7/1/12 11:33 PM
Hi,
I've been using Chrome for a long time, but since yesterday, the browser won't load any pages. I open a new window and I just get a grey screen with "untitled" tabs. I tried several addresses, nothing will load. Firefox and Internet Explorer work correctly.

I've disabled my antivirus, restarted the computer. I can't clear history or cookies because Chrome doesn't open anything.

Have any of you encountered this? I need help!

Thanks!

me too, stopped working yesterday for no reason, firefox and ie work fine
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Mandinga 7/2/12 9:26 AM
I have just installed Google Chrome 20 on a Windows 7 Pro (64-Bit).
Google Chrome simply open with blank pages.

Even after entering websites nothing displays.
Not even settings page opens.

I was trying to have a feel of Chrome, but I guess this is a big turn off for me.
I hope I can get past this though.

Would 19 be any better?

Chrome was working for me last night, but since this morning I am having the same problem that you are. Firefox and IE are working fine.

Google crapped out on on me.  Nothing loads, tried re-installing, it didn't work.  What's up with this?

EDIT: Please continue to let us know if any of these troubleshooting steps listed on this help article helped resolve the issue.
Also let us know what your antivirus program is.

Hey folks,

Thanks for your reports. Can you let me know about the following:
  • Your operating system (if you have not already)
  • Your Chrome version (if you have not already). Go to Wrench > About Google Chrome
  • When Chrome starts up, are there any error messages?
  • If you have a firewall and/or antivirus program installed, have you tried adding Chrome to its list of Allowed Programs?
  • One of you mentioned the settings page displaying a blank page as well. Can the rest of you verify if this is also happening for you: go to Wrench > Settings > does this page open for you, or is it also blank?
Re: Chrome won't load any pages i80 7/2/12 4:33 PM
I'm having a similar/same problem.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Chrome v. 20.0.1132.47
No Error Messages
I have Avast (v. 7.0.1451) and Chrome is allowed and not flagged as a PUP.
Settings (and all other pages) show a blank gray/bluish page.

I also just did a full scan and no infected files were found.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages badhairdaylady 7/2/12 4:44 PM
- Windows 7 Home Premium
- I'm not able to open anything with chrome to check version.  Not able to even go to Wrench.  Chrome Browser won't come up at all.
- No error messages, I can install, there's an icon on the desktop, and can pin to start menu and taskbar, but won't open.
- Everything is good with antivirus program.  Everything worked perfectly before.

I've always had ESET and have never had any issues. I have been using Chrome since it came out with no issues until today.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages xinu38 7/2/12 11:01 PM
Wow I thought it was just me.  Same as others, power Chrome user at work and home and all of a sudden today Chrome would flash search results (I think) then go to a blank page. Almost like a re-direct.  Here's what I see in the address bar while on the blank page:

https://www.google.com/blank.html#hl=en&safe=off&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=bmc&oq=&gs_l=&pbx=1&fp=8567db1fd99c0c53&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1245&bih=706

I haven't tried to re-install yet but it's the same thing on my 2 work stations at work and both my home laptop and desktop of which 3 are Win7 Pro and one Home.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Charlie.Charlie 7/2/12 11:16 PM
So, I believe the issue I'm having has been around since v18:

http://productforums.google.com/d/topic/chrome/Yer3C5erKCI/discussion
http://productforums.google.com/d/topic/chrome/2NaTVJyeyRQ/discussion
http://productforums.google.com/d/topic/chrome/H37W3X-YOrQ/discussion
http://productforums.google.com/d/topic/chrome/E2rwuw7PQcg/discussion

It worked fine until I installed some MS patches a week ago. I'm running Win 7 64-bit + Symantec. None of the previous versions of Chrome work. Specifically a v18 I tried comes up with the AW SNAP error.

The settings page doesn't open either, with log messages the same as in the above 4 mentioned topics:

"ERROR:child_process_launcher.cc(226)] Failed to launch child process"

Running with "chrome.exe --no-sandbox" works perfectly fine, however, as stated in one of the other topics, this is not ideal...

Happy to help where I can if you need more info.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Tasao 7/3/12 2:57 AM
Have this problem as well. Every page is Untitled, and is bluish grey. Sometimes there's a prolonged loading icon on my pointer when I try a page. Happens with every page. The URL box displays the correct URL, not Untitled or about:blank or anything, it just the tab name is "Untitled".

OS: Windows 7 64
Chrome version: 20.0.1132.47 m
No error message on start.
Chrome is on the list of Allowed Programs.
Wrench > Settings is blank and so is every other option. History, Downloads, Help, Bookmark Manager, etc. About Google Chrome is the only option that works.

Problem started this morning for me. ~3:30am CST July 7 2012.
Before closing Chrome out the night before I selected the option to have browsing history cleared anytime Chrome is closed, for the first time. But before this I'd let Chrome run for a day or two or three so something else might've happened in that time.

I'm currently posting with Chrome, though. Because I read in another thread that adding -no-sandbox to a Chrome shortcut to run it might help. It allows me to run Chrome, but it gives me a pop-up warning that stability and security might suffer.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages badhairdaylady 7/3/12 9:56 AM
I did some scans and came up with a Trojan, Exploit: Java/CVE-2012-0507.ca.  Also scanned in safe mode and now can open Google, but I do get the grey/blue screen others are talking about, also am able to access the wrench finally.  Pages still won't load though.

I am having the same problem.

Windows 7 Home Premium.
Chrome version 20.0.1132.47 m
No Error messages, just blank screen, when I click on any bookmarks, the address appears in the address bar, but the title of the page remains "untitled" and nothing happens.
No problems with antivirus/firewall
Settings page is also blank, nothing happens.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Donna-Lee 7/4/12 10:09 AM
Managed to bring up home page in Google by adding -no-sandbox in properties on the shortcut tab under target.  I do get the message 'You are using and unsupported command line flag, stability & security will suffer'.  I am also able to finally bring up settings to possible tweak something in there...
Re: Chrome won't load any pages aljaz 7/4/12 10:51 AM
Not limited only to win world

Debian wheezy
Chrome latest (just downloaded off google site, deb 64bit)
Settings page does not open.
Only page that opens normally is iGoogle.

Happens on two different machines with the same OS. One has been recently reinstalled.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages rodjak 7/4/12 12:20 PM
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Phelpski 7/5/12 8:36 AM
I was having the same problem.  I discovered that if a just type chrome.exe into the run / search box chrome would load just fine.  However, if I launch it from my pinned taskbar shortcut I was getting grey pages, even when trying to open the settings or downloads pages.

Looking at the properties of the pinned taskbar shortcut, it appeared that the actual executable it was trying to launch was now:

C:\Users\{your profile}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\old_chrome.exe

I simply changed it back to:

C:\Users\{your profile}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

Everything seems to be working great now.  It looks like an auto update for chrome from google may have occurred around 6/28.  I think some MS patches were also sent out recently.  I'm not sure which of these changed the shortcut executable, but just change it back to chrome.exe and it may fix your problem.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages PrimeMinisterFalcon 7/5/12 2:53 PM
Same problem for me since just a few days ago...

Every single page takes several minutes to begin loading, during which time, Chrome gobbles up an entire processor core, taking up 25-30 percent CPU. After several minutes, the page finally starts to load and goes quickly.

The process repeats itself for EVERY single page I go to.

I'm running:

Windows 7 64-bit
Chrome version 20.0.1132.47
No error messages
Running MalwareBytes and Panda AV
Even the Settings page is acting the same way

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Charlie.Charlie 7/5/12 4:42 PM
FYI Google, this did not fix my problem...

Re: Chrome won't load any pages valverij 7/8/12 4:48 AM
This is definitely the issue. If you open it from the start menu, it works fine too. I just unpinned it (right-click, "Unpin this program from the taskbar"), opened it from the start menu, and re-pinned it (right-click, "Pin this...").

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Oldthinker 7/10/12 7:25 AM
I discovered this problem yesterday and fixed it today.

Here's the solution I used:  Shut down all Chrome windows, including the resident process for cloud print.  Opened IE and set it as my default browser.   Then pulled up a fresh Chrome window (from the launch bar, NOT from a hyperlink somewhere) and set it back as my default browser.

Now if you care, here's why it worked:
Not long ago, I was having the "oh snap" issue, which caused me to to rename my "AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" to "chrom.exe", which fixed that issue.  More recently, an update created a new "chrome.exe" in the folder and, it seems, fixed the "oh snap" problem.  It also redirected my quick-launch shortcut back to the new "chrome.exe", which I had previously manually directed at "chrom.exe".  So, opening Chrome from the quick-launch bar had no problems.  What the update did NOT do was change my default browser settings away from "chrom" to "chrome", and so anything I clicked from a document, email, skype, or bookmark shortcut was still pulling up via the older "chrom", which was giving me the blank grey screen.  Even if you didn't rename chrome.exe at any point, I suspect this may still work for you.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages itemforty 7/10/12 8:37 AM
I was having this problem until I noticed that the shortcut was hitting old_chrome. I changed the shortcut path and it works fine now.

This is not an answer, it is a question. Why is it marked as the best "answer"?
Re: Chrome won't load any pages dontdoevil 7/10/12 7:46 PM
I've reinstalled Chrome complete 4 times now. Prior to doing so, I deleted all registry entries, all cache files, all relevant Local Settings files, flushed DNS cache, deleted all Local Settings/Temp folder files (includes many Google Chrome files), rebooted twice and otherwise made all efforts to ensure their was no residue from Chrome on my PC.

A new install of Chrome, whether current stable release or current dev channel version, still results in a hung page, no matter whether it's a new tab, www.google.com, or the prior session's tab group. No page, including settings, will load.

I've captured the entire Chrome launch process using Sysinternals process monitor, and can see that Chrome is actually communicating with Google servers, and continues to download Safe Browsing file updates, syns history, etc., but it does NOT LOAD A SINGLE PAGE. Chrome also creates and writes to multiple tmp files in the Local Settings/Temp directory. No matter how long I leave it running, it NEVER LOADS a page, but will keep updating user data files and creating/writing to/deleting new tmp files. It appears to this non-programmer to be stuck in some sort of loop. It will produce a message that says that the "page" (whether one or many) has become unresponsive and asks if you want to kill it.

Google, I reported this well over a month ago, yet there seem to be ever more people experiencing the same frustration, with no guidance or feedback from any Googlers.  How about a little help, please?

Hey folks,
Some of you mentioned that uninstalling and reinstalling has worked for you. For those of you who are still seeing a blank page when trying to navigate to any webpage, can you try creating a new browser user profile, and let me know if that makes any difference?
Re: Chrome won't load any pages SanchoUCD 7/11/12 12:53 PM
I got mine to work after everything else including reinstalled didn't. I went to the tools menu and cleared the history. I checked every box and cleared everything from the beginning of time. This took a long time so I let it run overnight. This morning when I woke up I restarted Chrome and it loaded Facebook in mere seconds. Hope this works for you as well. - John
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Charlie.Charlie 7/11/12 6:54 PM
This didn't work for me.

Could you please stop stabbing in the dark and start proper troubleshooting?
eg asking people for log files etc? This will identify the people who are having a different issue. Here I'll start you off:

running: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --enable-logging --v=1

Log file: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\chrome_debug.log
(attached and modified for security)

The most noticable (as I've said in my previous post) is this line:

[11960:12776:778881854:ERROR:child_process_launcher.cc(231)] Failed to launch child process

Running the following DOESN'T cause the issue: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --no-sandbox

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Socrates2009 7/12/12 3:08 AM
I manage an environment of 5,000 Win7x64 machines.   Google Chrome has stopped working on all of them since the June Microsoft security updates were applied.

The Chrome proces starts, and a network trace shows that it's downloading web content, but nothing is rendered in its window.  The history and settings pages won't load either - only the Help About dialog box still works.  If a debugger is attached, no exceptions are being thrown - there are 27 threads:

The only in-process Microsoft DLL that is dated 2012 is Wintrust.dll, which was updated back in April via MS12-024.

I have a full dump of Chrome.exe in this state - how to I securely upload this to Google for analysis please?

Thank you

I am getting the exact same problem as many of you. This morning I woke up and Chrome didn't work. I have to post this with (gasp) Firefox. Opening my browser gives me a blue untitled page. No other pages work. I cannot access the settings tab or the Clear browsing data tab.

I tried this and it didn't solve the issue.
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Soo123 7/14/12 8:24 AM
I am having exactly the same problem and am having to use Mozilla too, nothing opens on Chrome, not the history tab, settings tab or anything, just a pale blue page on whatever you try. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with a restart in between but to no avail. There must be something that can be done to fix this!

Re: Chrome won't load any pages MS_in_MN 7/14/12 6:40 PM
I am having the same problem too.  Last several days I had lots of "aw snap" messages and now Chrome won't open at all. Have tried all day and not a single Chrome link on my computer will open the browser.  I don't want to uninstall because I'm afraid I will lose all my bookmarks.

Just tried creating a new browser user and it still won't open so I can't get a new default file created.

Does anyone know how to recover all the bookmarks and move them to another browser?

Re: Chrome won't load any pages dontdoevil 7/15/12 6:47 PM
Did anyone from Google ever reply, or do they just not give a outhouse trip unless you are paying them money?

You'd think 5000 users would deserve some attention, especially since they are potential Google Apps customers, but Google has bigger fish to fry. Can you imagine the uproar if Microsoft had behaved this way with IE back in the 90's? Just kidding - they did behave this way and the uproar was huge, but there weren't as many alternatives then. Your 5000 users plus me will not be likely converters to Chrome as a permanent web browser.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages dontdoevil 7/15/12 6:52 PM
Have now discovered that Chrome running on Windows 7 has the exact same non-performing behavior. None of the "fixes" reported here work for it, just like they don't for my Windows 2003 Server.

It is clearly a Google Chrome issue and Google clearly does not care.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Donna-Lee 7/15/12 7:14 PM
I had the issues too with Chrome not loading and getting the blue/grey screen and not being able to access the wrench and so on.  I had run various scans, tried installing and reinstalling many times and then finally got it to work, but not perfectly, not sure what the problem is exactly.  I often have everything freeze up on me and somehow new tabs are being created and I think I need to reopen the pages I had up, but then realize that they're still open, I just couldn't access them.  This happens every day.  Why haven't any of these issues been addressed yet?

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Sokomato 7/19/12 4:39 AM
I have all the same issues with others, Wrench > Settings > or any other page (except About page) don't show up. I have added an image to show how it looks.

I have a solution, but it is not a final solution. Here are the steps:

- Start>Run...
- Type "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\Application\" and then hit Enter.
- Rename "chrome.exe" as "chrom.exe" or any other name.
- Click "chrom.exe" and problem solved!

With the renamed "chrom.exe" Google Chrome works as normal but if you rename it again to "chrome.exe" the blue Untitled page occurs again.

Hey folks, Thanks for continuing to provide updates on this issue.

@Charlie.Charlie, thanks for posting the debug log. In the log there was "No existing Google Chrome install found." Have you already tried manually uninstalling Chrome and re-installing to see if that helps?

Sokomato, amanda381, thanks for posting the screenshots. I'm curious about how both of you landed on the same page (URL). When you try to navigate to any other website, are you being redirected back to the URL, that is captured in your screenshots?
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Charlie.Charlie 7/19/12 9:57 PM
Hi @Sie_Deen,

There have been some guys working on this problem and we got a solution for our situation. Here are the details for those who may have the same problem:

TL;DR: Install this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2532445

So our issue was directly related to a bug in an update done recently by MS to Win 7's AppLocker. In a corporate environment, application execution security through AppLocker can be administrated via group policy. We have Google Chrome restricted to only the latest version, however, as MS introduced a bug in AppLocker things weren't so peachy when Chrome tried to create it's second process.

Have a look in your eventlog under AppLocker and you'll see errors with the following text if this AppLocker bug is causing your issue: "%PROGRAMFILES%\GOOGLE\CHROME\APPLICATION\CHROME.EXE was prevented from running." - (or wherever you have Chrome installed, for my home PC it's under my users directory)

Installing http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2532445 has resolved this issue for me.

I hope this resolves everyone else's issue.

Charlie

Thanks for the update @Charlie.Charlie!

Folks, if any of you are seeing this issue in a corporate environment (such that your fellow colleagues are having the same issue), please check with your administrator if the solution posted by @Charlie.Charlie applies to your environment.
Re: Chrome won't load any pages JackKnife 8/1/12 8:38 AM

Have had this problem on a user's Win7/64 pc for a couple of weeks. Pages (have 3 set as home page) are labeled Untitled, and empty page bodies are all blue/gray. HTML pages on the C: drive don't open, either.

OS: Windows 7 64
Chrome version: 21.0.1180.60
No error messages
All Chrome settings display as blank. "About Google Chrome" is the only option that works.
Microsoft Security Essentials
hosts file clean
-no-sandbox command line option enables browsing (but is obviously not desirable)
No Applocker issues

Uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, including removing Google registry entries and user's Chrome folder. Chrome runs fine in Safe Mode and when a different user is logged in on that computer.

Windows XP Professional version 2002 service pack 3 with a
Pentium(R) 4 CPU at 2.40 GHz and 2.00 GB of RAM.

I have Chrome version 21.0.1180.60 m at the moment. No error messages
when it opens, just blank pages. However in the About Google Chrome
page it gave me a Error Code 3.

Nothing will load on Chrome, either in a normal tab or in-private tabs.
Chrome tried to update last night and gave me an Error code 3. I went to
the back up download site to get the current version of Chrome I have
here, however my problem still persists.

It does show in task manger that is it using a little over 26,000 K of CPU
but does nothing and gives the "Kill pages" box. Also both of my extentions
seem to b lost, nothing important just another effect of the problem.

I have rechecked my firewall to make sure Chrome has access out to the web all
is good. Beyond this I hit a wall of my knowledge.

Most pages under the wrench will not open, all are just blank as well such as
setting, and extentions.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Dalisa 8/5/12 12:10 PM
I am having the same issue Pookybear. Mine are just white pages with the loading in the tab. Nothing comes up through the wrench either. It just quit working yesterday when I disabled Pepperflash.

    Your operating system Windows 7
    Your Chrome version 21.0.1180.60 m
When Chrome starts up, are there any error messages? No error messages. There's nothing. Just a white screen.
If you have a firewall and/or antivirus program installed, have you tried adding Chrome to its list of Allowed Programs? Everything is all right with my Norton.
One of you mentioned the settings page displaying a blank page as well. Can the rest of you verify if this is also happening for you: go to Wrench > Settings > does this page open for you, or is it also blank? It is blank and white. On occasion the Kill Page or Wait buttons come up.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages thepookybear 8/5/12 4:53 PM
Have done some extra scans, nothing has been found.
However, in safe mode with networking, Chrome will work. But once
returning to normal mode Chrome once again displays only blank pages
with limited access. No web pages will load at all and most features
under the wrench will not work.

Got a laptop here with the same: no pages load, settings page won't load... worked last Wednesday (8/1).

Adding the [ -no-sandbox] switch to the shortcut allows pages to load.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Sie_Deen 8/6/12 11:24 AM
@thepookybear, thanks for sharing all the details! Can you try the following while Chrome is not open (you may have to check in the Windows Task Manager to make sure there are no Chrome background processes running - from offline apps, etc.):

(In normal mode) Right click on the Chrome shortcut > select Properties > in the dialog that appears, select the tab for Compatibility > in the section for Compatibility mode, is the checkbox selected?
If it is, can you deselect it, and try opening Chrome again?

Also, when you go to Wrench > About Google Chrome, is there still an error message listed?
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Sie_Deen 8/6/12 11:36 AM
@Dalisa, Disabling PepperFlash should not have caused cause Chrome to stop loading webpages. You may have already tried the troubleshooting steps listed on this help article, but if you have not, can you try it and let me know what happens?

Additional questions:
1. If you start up your Windows 7 computer in Safe mode, are you able to browse to the affected webpages using Chrome?
Check that you do not have the Compatibility mode selected when you start up Chrome in Normal mode. (Right click on the Chrome shortcut > select Properties > in the dialog that appears, select the tab for Compatibility > in the section for Compatibility mode, check that the checkbox is not selected)
2. If you create a new browser user profile, does the same issue persist?

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Sie_Deen 8/6/12 12:06 PM
@JackKnife, you mentioned that Chrome runs fine when a different user is logged in on that computer. Are there specific software that is setup to only run in the affected Windows user, and not across all Windows users? Or other variances in the setup?
You may have already tried some of the troubleshooting steps on this help article, but if you have not, can you give it a try and let us know if it helps?
Also let us know if creating a new browser user profile helps.

@Tyler.Durden,  @Asklie, @Donna O., it is not advisable to run Chrome with --no-sandbox, as this makes you vulnerable to security exploits. Please let us know if you have already tried the troubleshooting steps on this help article, and let us know if creating a new browser user profile helps.
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Tyler.Durden 8/6/12 2:33 PM

Sie Deen

I right clicked and check the compatibility tab, no boxes were checked.

I tries the "-no-snadbox" thing, works however I get a note that states:
"You are using an unsupported command_line flag:--no-sandbox. Stability
and security will suffer."

Ok so what does this -no-sandbox actually do to Chrome?

Same thing is happening to me.   Enabling -no-sandbox is the only fix that has worked.  I have tried clearing the cache/history and creating a new user profile.  Haven't tried a reinstall but others seem to be reporting that that doesn't work.

Windows Vista 64

Re: Chrome won't load any pages dontdoevil 8/7/12 8:37 AM
I previously posted about this issue about a month ago. About two weeks ago, i realized that my computer had a rootkit infection - the Zeroaccess rootkit - an insidious rootkit that silently makes any infected PC a member of a criminally run botnet. ZeroAcess is difficult to identify and remove. With the expert assistance of the Bleeping Computer malware removal team, I finally succeeded. Once it was removed, Google Chrome began functioning normally again.

There appear to be a myriad of reasons for Chrome to act up, but if yours is and you can't figure out why, it would be worth your while to run several malware and rootkit scans, and or seek the assistance of the bleepingcomputer.com crew. Note that the traditional best-of-breed malware scanners like SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes will not identify rootkits. Comodo and ESET's online scanners did identify the rootkit. Bleepingcomputer also has some specialized tools that can find and remove them.

Best of luck!

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Verticity 8/7/12 8:55 AM
Hey,

I am running Vista Home Premium (x64).

To answer some previous questions:
Chrome does run in Safe Mode, but not in normal mode
You cannot open the "Settings"
It only loads pages in "--no-sandbox" mode.

Re: Chrome won't load any pages rfvgyhn 8/7/12 9:10 AM
I was running the latest build from the beta channel and seeing the same issues (no web pages or settings pages (chrome://*) would load). Checked for virus/malware with multiple tools and they didn't find anything. Disabled anti-virus and firewall and that didn't help. Tried re-installing and that didn't work either.

--- My solution ---
I installed Canary and it worked fine. I uninstalled the beta version and installed the normal version and it works fine now.

* OS: Win7x64
* Version: Latest Beta build (dont remember exact version number since I'm not using the beta channel anymore)
* Error Messages: None
* Firewall/antivirus: Both disabled to test
* Settings: Page wouldn't load

Re: Chrome won't load any pages Bib4Tuna 8/7/12 9:12 AM
Same problem.

Using latest beta.
Re-installing did not work.
Creating new user profile don't work.
Scanned with Malewarebytes.  No issues.
Using AVAST, no events on log.
Loads pages with -no-sandbox command.

Stuck on loading message on tab.  2 tabs always open, nothing displays.
No settings page.
Can't open incognito either.
The Gmail checker plugin does not seem to initialize.
Eventually get a page is not responding Kill/Wait.  Kill does nothing, wait closes the message.
Firefox and IE work fine.

@jalt007, the issue you are describing is different from what is being discussed here. Can you start a new thread and let us know the details about the issue you are seeing?
- Your operating system
- Chrome version (you'll have to navigate to the Applications folder to locate this, since you mentioned Chrome does not stay open for you)
- If you are on a Windows computer, what happens when you start up the computer in Safe Mode?
- Let us know if these workarounds helped
Re: Chrome won't load any pages Sie_Deen 8/7/12 2:58 PM
Hey folks,
If you are seeing this issue recently (all webpages are not loading), and have Avast as your antivirus, we have been investigating this issue and a fix is coming soon. The fix will be released to the Beta channel, and Stable channel during our usual updates, so there is no need to switch channels.

If you do not have Avast, but all webpages are not loading, it may be a different issue with similar symptoms. Please continue to let us know what is your antivirus program, and if any of these troubleshooting steps helped.
I'm going to merge this thread with another more recent thread that further discusses this issue.
